TRON said: Recently, a friend of mine called me with yet another animal crisis. Some friends of hers got a promotion and were moving to Detroit. They got an apartment that didn't allow pets and were just going to take them to the pound. One of their dogs was a young golden retriever who was adopted right away. The other is a 9 year old basset hound who was kept outside on a chain his entire life. He would've surely been gassed at the pound. They have an adoption rate of less than 3%. I felt worse for the dog than the people. If they wouldn't go out of their way to keep their dog of 9 years, they don't deserve him anyway. I have a friend who does animal rescue and I was going to place the dog with her. But then I met him. And my whole family fell in love. He's so friendly, easy going and sweet. His name is Sir Fang Oliver. I don't know if it fits him, but I'm not about to change it this late in life. He's adapted very well to life with us and seems to be much happier than when we first took him in.
Here he is. And here he is looking out our front window at the lake. Cute huh? So cute I could cry! I hounds. They're such affectionate dogs. Congrats on the new family member

Thanks everyone. He's brought a lot of joy to our lives when we needed it most. Some of the best things in life come when you're not expecting them.
