I think you missed the point here. For most of the times it was not his opinions that caused the controversy but the way he presented them, the words and style he used. EWM would rush into a Michael Moore thread and instead of dealing with the topic and arguments, just drop a comment like "Fuck that fat piece of shit" and rush out again. What discussion could this possibly bring up? So of course he got heat for this kinda crap. And excuse me, but why should someone accept and ignore this and get over? I for my part will oppose views and opinions I disagree with, and I will react when I sense ignorance. After all it's a discuccion forum, right?
The problem was mainly his inability to lead a decent argument, meaning: not only reading but also processing the given arguments, and trying to understand what the opponent has to say. He presented his prejudiced, already fixed and most of the time very simplistic views. And when he was asked to back up his claims, either you got a comment like "I know it because I live in the Bronx!" or "It's true, because some people told me so." The best thing you could squeeze outta him was a link to the first site that would pop up on a quick Google search, hardly giving himself the time to even read the headlines of the sites he posted. On the other hand you could put him in the corner with tons of arguments and facts, and all you got in return was some chicken out answer. Having said that I must also step in to his defense to some point: I never saw a post of his that I considered plain out racist. And I hardly ever saw him attacking people on a personal level just for the sake of baiting. He was interested in bringing HIS views across, but never really in the opinions of others or in learning something new. I'm sure in real life he's a nice guy, and anything else but the tough guy image he never was able to bring across anyway. I'm sure he's fun to hang out with, and probably IRL I could get along with him fine - as long as we avoid talking issues like politics and alike.

yeah I agree let them ALL come back and maybe make a new major discussion forum heavily moderated and only available to use for a few hours each day so the people involved know that they better make a good point or present themselves quickly or "BUZZZ!!!"times up that would be a helluva spectacle if they let everyone come together and vent.plus many others will come to witness it all!!! And I might add... ...if he got booted, then presumably the mods thought it was necessary. Now I don't believe that this automatically makes it the right decision. But I find it totally surprising how CERTAIN FOLKS on this thread can seem surprise or shocked that others, myself included, can have even the slightest reason to state that EWM was an utter twat at the best of times. I have not posted that much in ANY forum lately cause I don't have to much time on my hands for now. anyway, what you say is certainly true. however it is nothing new. there were always people heading for controversy, and threadjacking has happened ever since the org exists. but MOST threads that EWM got involved, turned into a mess quicker than someone could say fuck. I don't think we need to have an org-poll to ask, who stirred the most shit around here... so if there's not some giant org conspiracy to pick a randomly selected individual and mob him outta this place, it should have to do something with EWM himself... and if it's not bad breath or somethin I would take a wild guess and assume it COULD have to do with the style he uses in a debate... don't you think?
