The Game Of Life.

You had to get married, have kids, buy a house and then try to retire at Millionaire's Mansion.

I was never very good at it.

Mouse Trap.

I never used to play it, I just used to set it up and watch it do it's thing.

I also used to have a lot of themed board games, like a Spiderman board game where string came out of Spiderman's bottom like a web. There was an "escape from Frankenstein's castle" game too, which I loved.

Loved both of these. Especially Mousetrap. Someone did a lifesize one somewhere this year near San Francisco. Looked pretty cool. But that was one of my favorites.

Life was cool, but sorta ordinary...I was too young to enjoy it that much. Though NOW...they have this crappy version that's not even 3-D...looks really cheap. And they changed some of the rules and the strategy mad . I'd like to get a hold of the classic version.

My dad got rid of all of my cool toys after my mom passed. I had left the house already...and he never told me about a garage sale he had. sigh Other than the Dark Tower...I lost ALLLL of my micronauts. All this stuff fetches high prices on ebay, so I piece a little bit of it together from time to time.

This game ruled my childhood. I still remember the smell, when you unfold the game. sigh... memories. I recently bought one just as a keepsake or to pass down to my kids whenever I have them, cuz who knows...this game might be out of print when that time comes. Which I doubt it, to me Candyland is like Monopoly....it'll never go out of style.Board games like Candyland are so cheap now....especially if you catch em' on sale for like $5. Chutes and Ladders was another one. Man, there were so many we used to play. Mouse Trap was one that we only played a few times, cuz it took so long to set up and a lot of times the traps didn't work and the ball would get stuck, same with Clue...it took forever. "Sorry" was one that we used to play too, but I didn't really like that one, we just used to play it,cuz we were bored. Even though Connect 4,UNO, and Hungry Hungry Hippos aren't actual board games, we used to play the hell out those too.

MrJoker

We had Stay Alive, Monopoly, Life, Stratego, Sorry!, Merlin, Battleship...that's all I can think of at the moment. A friend of mine had Dark Tower. That game rocked! I wish they'd make that one again, but I think it's tied up in legal issues. Damn lawyers. wink

Old Enough razz

But most of those came out in late 70's early 80's. Except for the Stay Alive and PB&J..those are older. I recall playing them...I did not own them.

Don;t forget all the action games like...

Intriguingly, Operation is one of the top-ten selling games this year in Britain. I'm unsure why - I guess these things go in cycles.
