So how was your 2004?

It's been a roller coaster year for a lot of us here, even on the Org. Personally it's been a good year for me. it started off badly but then by springtime it was all alright.

i was working a dead-end job going nowhere. it was making me more and more depressed by the day. i quit the job in february and by april i was back at home with my folks. that was prolly the most stressful culmination as i had to pack my entire five years of living in London within two weeks. within four days i had a new job and i was liking it. i have since moved out into my own place and have changed to a newer job, same work. i also started an environmental charity with a friend and that seems to be going good.
unfortunately i have not found a special someone to share my life with yet but i suppose that will come around.
i am tons happier than i was a year ago and i suppose it can only get better if i play my cards right.

so! how was your year?

Heavenly

It was the worst and best year of my life.
I've become head sound engineer in the studio I work in, and later than year promoted as a manager of the studio, and now I am invited to work in the US, which is park of my wish.
But emotionally I'm still broken from a break-up that happened almost 2 years ago. can't get her out of my head for more than 5 minutes.

It started out great.

I got my masters degree, I got the job I wanted, and I was achieving all my goals.

Then I lost the love of my life to another.

Now. Well, I'm coping.

Started out strange, ending strange. It's been a year of growth, self development and change...I haven't found that one special person yet either, but I'm sure, like you Milty, that will come in time as well.

Glad this crazy year is almost over woot!
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Musically, its been a brilliant year with new releases from virtually all my fave artists and bands, both on CD and DVD!!

But personally its been total shit, with my husband being in and out of work more times than u and I have been in and out of the bathroom!! lol lol lol. Then his health has slowly declined. The thing is, bosses over here in England lie out of the back of their teeth by saying contracts havent come in, or, contracts have come 2 an end, so they let go of workers, but all along they didnt have the balls 2 stand up and tell my husband the truth that his work wasnt upto speed anymore, due 2 his health!! All they are interested in over here is production and profit, unlike the USA where they really do care about thier workers!! They have 2!! otherwise they could get sued for millions!! We have had nothing but heartache and headaches this year all because of this countrys shitty employment practises!! Then on top of that we have had 2 deal with all the incompetency of the social services and benefit agencies!!

I hope next year brings us a better life!!!

I look like I've aged ten years in 12 months when I look in the mirror these days.

I'm off work all this week because I'm physically and mentally exhausted.

hug I hope the time off revitalises you Jus.

This years been dull for me generally. Wasn't really aiming for anything in particular, mainly coasting. I had a whole bunch of financial difficulties just after last XMas, after blowing too much on what was supposed to be a cheap 1 week boarding holiday....and Ive only just become self-sufficient again. I gave my first ever public guitar performance this year as well, and set up a band, but other than that, nothing really exciting accept for the odd shag here and there shrug

Maybe I'll set targets for next year. Actually shit, I have to find a new job boxed
jerkoff.....drool BULLSEYE! cool

Honestly, I feel better already, just knowing that I don't have to get up at 06:30 tomorrow morning.

I think it's been a very "transitional" year. My circumstances haven't really changed all that much, but the way I react to them has.

I want a band again next year.

Byron

The year has been a good one, and seemed to just steadily improve... sun

The rough spiritual and emotional moments at the beginning of the year have been replaced with a calm and peacefulness that I know is now a permanent part of my being...my spiritual muscle tone has developed quite a bit. rose The connecting (and re-connecting) with beautiful souls here, both new and old, has been a pleasure I could have only imagined back in January. I reached a 25 year old goal of mine, and flew to Australia, just me and my camera...*smile*...I started a new job, freelancing and making more money now than I did before. Even the issues with my father have improved from earlier in the year...and during everything surrounding my dad I'm thankful to those of you who gave me your words of encoragement, your ear, your shoulder, and your time... hug

There really have been very few lows this year, I've refused for them to exist...I'm listening far better to the Universe, to God, than I ever have before...and I'm happier because of it, more sure of myself and what I have to offer to others.

No, I guess it wasn't.
The cool thing is that I'm waking up now and realizing that I need to reprioritize some of my life.

Hey, you're a handsome fellow.
No wonder you're such a bitch.

I won't make any sweeping statements saying this was the "best" or "worst" year, but I definitely experienced a lot.

2004 will be memorable for these events:

- Graduating from college (May 1, 2004)

- Living and working in New York (Summer 2004)

- The Nipplegate controversy and the subsequent fallout (Feb. 1, 2004 - present)
Wow. Who knew that would happen? I am a huge Janet Jackson fan and this year I have been tested at my very foundation. This was the first time LOADS of negative attention was directed towards a person I truly love and admire. Ironically, this event happened on my birthday. I remember during mid-February and May, it was too difficult for me to watch TV without having fits of sadness and frustration. Janet did not deserve all of that negative attention that came her way for a simple nipple slip. With 2004, I realized WHY I loved Janet and that my velvetdom would remain intact even through the most difficult of times -- I will be a Janet Fan 4 Life... I can't be stopped.

- The Re-election of George W. Bush (Nov. 2, 2004)
hmph! I can't believe he won. I tried -- I voted. I guess we have more losers out there than I thought. Looking at him on TV makes my chest hurt. This is going to be a long four years, but I am definitely going to be a voice in the world and I'm going to make an impact on others around me regardless of who's in power. 2004 was the most politically incendiary year I've ever experienced. Everybody, I mean, everybody I know was talking about this election or had some kind of feeling about it. Definitely memorable and incredibly sad.

Reincarnate

It's been a bad year for me unfortunately, probably the worst ever.

On the positive side I have learned some major life lessons and because of the bad times am making changes that needed to be made. I think had things not been so awful at times this year I would've been happy with the status quo and unlikely to have moved in the direction I need to right now.

So, on New Year's Eve I'll raise a glass to 2004 - shit year that it was - and be thankful that I'm still here, a little wiser, a little stronger, a little sadder ... but still here at least.

Mine was great! I finished college, got married, currently pregnant(first try,it's a girl),quit one of my 3 jobs that I have done for 9 years and had hated for at least 6...Overall, I'd have to say, a great year! I guess until I just wrote it all down, I didn't realize how great 2004 was and how fortunate I am.
