I have to admit that I was very disappointed when I heard it was gonna be a
"contemporary retelling" of the War of the Worlds, as I was looking forward to a version that was a fairly faithful adaption of the the book for a change. We've already had 2 "contemporary retellings" of War of the Worlds... the first screen version and 'Independance Day'. Anyway... here's hoping that the Spielberg version will still be good. Yeah - me too. It would have been nice to keep the vibe of the Richard Burton-narrated album I thought - that whole kind of uptight, 1950's Middle-England feel. But let's wait and see. Who knows... | |
