nope. they're not accurate at all. I've gotten from 120 to 170 at various tests.

It depends if they've been created by/approved by a psychologist. I've taken a few and my score has always been right around what my written one was

Um...yeah...it is in the top 2 percentile. I, technically, can join MENSA, but it's too expensive.

I think you get free glasses. http://www.mensa.org/info.php Membership in Mensa is open to persons who have attained a score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised. There is no other qualification or disqualification for membership eligibility. The term "IQ score" is widely used but poorly defined. There are a large number of tests with different scales. The result on one test of 132 can be the same as a score 148 on another test. Some intelligence tests don't use IQ scores at all. Mensa has set a percentile as cutoff to avoid this confusion. Candidates for membership in Mensa must achieve a score at or above the 98th percentile (a score that is greater than or equal to 98 percent of the general population taking the test) on a standard test of intelligence. Generally, there are two ways to prove that you qualify for Mensa: either take the Mensa test, or submit a qualifying test score from another test. There are a large number of intelligence tests that are "approved". More information on whether a test you have taken is approved, as well as information on the procedure for taking the Mensa test, can be obtained from the nearest Mensa office. There are no on-line tests that can be used for admission to Mensa. Feel free to contact Mensa for specific details about eligibility. Mensa has no other eligibility requirements other than IQ testing. However, many tests are not valid for people under the age of 16. You should contact the nearest Mensa office for more information.

I don't think he ever took one

Yes they are very accurate. They take into acount how long you've been online, the type of sites you navigate, the amount of days you haven't bathed or changed underwear and your willingness to masturbate sitting in your chair watching the NASDAQ report. I highly recommend taking one each fiscal quarter for your year end tax report. Jeux Sans Frontiers

Extremely dubious - I tried several of them in a fit of boredom one day, and I consistently scored in the 135-145 range, and that's just not realistic. I'm reasonably bright, but there's no conceivable way I'm in that class.
I'd like to know if anyone's ever scored less than 100 on one of these things.

I'd like to know if anyone's ever scored less than 100 on one of these things. I managed to do that once by randomly clicking answers

I thought about joining Mensa once or twice.
I scored a 148 at five years old(the school forced me to be evaluated), and it has gradually dropped to about 140. Maybe I'll look into it?

100 is not bad at all! That's the average score. When you score between 90 and 110 you have an average score. WHen you score between 80 and 90, or 110 and 120, you're slightly better/worse than most people... and so on. Plus: the lower or higher the scores (150, 65) the less reliable they are. I don't think online IQ tests are very accurate. They're fun though: I scored 140 once But that can't be true. Not realistic.

153 on an online test once. But that doesn't mean anything. Okay, i'm not stupid at all, but a test in itself is wrong from the beginning, because the test person is not always 100% motivated, so the result is not justifiable.
But in any case, they're fun if you can score high and boast about it.

I just took one at IQ test.com and got within 2 points of my written one so not far off. The online one was 2 points higher that my written one
