Been a Prince fan since, guess! 1984! It was When Doves Cry that did it to me. Then the album sealed it. Then the subsequent Revolution albums and SOTT kind of imprinted that music on my soul.
Still love Prince's voice so much that whenever I see him live I forgive him all the wank album he has been making since 1990. On every album there is something I like, but no song comes nearly close to the musical greatness he displayed in the 80's. Except songs like One Nite Alone. | |

Once had a trip on Adore... Beautiful Musicology is fun, but I am not listening to it as much as people rave about. My fave ballad is still Girl, the extended version. The Rainbow Children was nice musically, but angered me lyrically. Cultish fodder that might intrigue the weak minded, but it did not make me want to look up all the references like his beautifully open minded religious trips in the 80's. Worst was Avalanche, which to me is such utter nonsense (lyrically) with it's blatantly politically colored re-writing of history. | |
