Anxiety

i never close my bathroom door when i'm alone, not for anything, and it occurred to me that my bathroom door shuts funny when guests come over, so i finally got a clue and bought a handy little lock for the bathroom door to prevent any untoward moments. redface

I have to shut mine when I take a shower, because for some reason, the steam sets off my fire alarm. I even tried replacing the fire alarm with a nicer one.

Otherwise I leave it open.

closed when showering, to keep the heat in - otherwise open

and why are those cats so nosey? as soon as you close a door they want to be let in. they love to push the door open and sit on the side of the tub while i'm in the shower

I close it when using the restroom and I also lock the door when taking a shower. I always think, what if someone breaks in? call me crazy but that's what I do biggrin

I don't get that, because if someone can break in to your house, you think the bathroom would be challenge for him to break into?

I can actually take a dump and watch TV at the same time if the bathroom door and living room door are both wide open. In fact, the TV sort of faces the bathroom.

I'm planning on taking pictures of my flat next week.

this is for everyone who keeps their door open. (including me)

I dont get it either.

Also, are people really that worried that someone will break into their house? The thought would never even cross my mind.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Yes, and why are they worried while their in the bathroom? Why not close the bedroom door at night?

In the summer I leave it open when showering, closed in the winter to keep in the steam. Always open when using the facilities at night, closed during the day. My bathroom door faces my one main window outside, so if my blinds are open I shut the door.

The bathroom door is always open, no matter what it is that I'm doing in there... unless there is strange company over, then I do shut it.

In fact, I don't much like being in the bathroom alone and my kids are well trained to sit in there and talk to me while I bathe or shower... lol

Well there is just me and 3 kids.

I take my shower before I go to bed when kids are asleep - door closed.

When the kids are with dad every second weekend - bathroom door open. I "know" my front and back door are locked.

I leave the door open...always...when I'm in the shower it's so the steam doesn't build up in the bathroom...I live in an old house and there is no exhaust fan.
When I'm using the facilities ( lol ) I leave it open because the cats are usually on the other side of the door meowing like mad to get in (they're nosey!)

Same here, minus the feline part.

I thought about this and I realised that I've never lived alone. At home with family, At uni it was with other students, and other times with flatmates. I should try living alone but the thought doesn't appeal to me. Although I can and do spend time alone, I prefer not to live alone, but I should try it at least once hmmm

Anyhow, I always close the doors. I'm with Supa on this, I feel that if somebody did break in, being nude would make me feel a million times more vulnerable.

living along or with others - toilet seats are always down, door is always closed.

i can't take a chance on my birds flying into the bathroom, as it's strictly off-limits for birds. too dangerous
