Here in St. Pete. , you can take a tour of the city on them heav, I've been thinking about doing it.....they are 3 cool.

I've heard that it's not legal yet to ride it in the street, because it's illegal to ride a motorized vehicle on the sidewalks. But I hear they're trying to change that law to fit the Segway.

And the prices won't go donw, because not many are buying them, for the simple reason that it's illegal to ride a motorized vehicle on the sidewalks. Until they change that law, it's only allowed in closed spaces, like train stations, airports and so on.

Then what about those motorized wheelchairs that they advertise like crazy on TV??? The old folks in the ads are shown riding them down the sidewalks...!

I don't think anyone would stop someone in a wheelchair and tell them to ride it on the road, and I don't think anyone would stop someone on a Segway either, unless they're not being very careful.
But for example, here in Israel, you can see the people in motorized wheelchairs riding them on the road, and not on sidewalks.
