This Makes Me So Sad!

I saw on the news tonight that a man was walking down a main street, when all of a sudden, he saw someone throw something out of a window. When the man got closer, he saw that it was not trash, as he had originally thought, but a cat. sad He picked the cat up and held it for a little bit, I guess the cat was meowing softly but not moving much. The man took the cat to the vets for treatment, but unfortunately, the poor thing died in the vet's office. bawl Poor kitty, he was so cute, they showed him on TV. He was black and white with the cutest face and markings, and he didn't look that old.

Unfortunately, the man who saw this happen did not get a license plate number or anything. I was thinking that it was ashame that he didn't have a cell phone with him, so he could get the license plate number of the car, and the individual(s) involved could be punished for this unnecessary act of cruelty. I agreed with him when he said that if the owners didn't want the cat, they should have taken it to a shelter, not just throw it out of a car window.

I get tears in my eyes just thinking about this. I know this happens every day and all over the world, but it still does not make it right. They say that karma is a bitch, and I hope karma bites the ass of the person(s) involved in this unfortunate incident. I would like to see them truly suffer in some way for what they did. I need to stop watching stories like this, but when I saw it on the news tonight, I guess I was expecting a happy ending. sad
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

sigh

This makes me sooooo upset. How are there so many people in the world who can conduct violence against innocent humans and animals is just beyond me.
I hope that kitty didn't suffer too much. cry

It's rare to find a happy story on the news it seems anymore.

If someone doesn't have an animal they can care for-find a good home or give to the Humane Society or SPCA-but stuff like that is just nauseating.

Awww smile
My kitties were strays when they were babies (there mother was most likely killed) and they were rescued and taken to an animal hospital where I adopted them smile

It's not like it'd prove any point to throw him out a window either.

Just wish people would learn.

I do wonder if some people just can't be rehabilitated. I mean...how many people do you know that actually think it's OK to throw a cat out of a speeding car?

yay! for adopting strays! It feels good to give them a home, doesn't it? Get them into a nice loving home that is warm with lots of food, water, love, and toys to play with.

Nancy have I ever told you the single most reason I'm so proud of my Stepmum and my Dad? (particularly my Stepmum)?

all her life she's rescued animals - she's had cats, dogs, birds, even snakes and lizards that she's rescued (they used to live on a property where there was lots of wildlife and now they live on one where there's even more lol )

she had a cat from when she was a child which was a present and now they have 3 pups that they bought...every single other animal they've had has been rescued from a drain, the rubbish, the pound etc nod even two horses! they've got two horses which were both ex- "trotters" that had injuries so weren't able to race any more - over here that's usually a death sentence sad Lindell saw to it that these two didn't end up that way woot! I've always looked up to her for the way she's got such a big heart like that!!! I remember just once instance - we stopped in on a freeway in the absolute pouring rain years ago now because there was a dog trying to cross the road - Lindell made sure it got across safely nod how cool is that!!!

I'm so torn on things like this...I know that violence begets violence...but, as I said...some people I don't think are able to be rehabilitated...and I want to strangle them with my bare hands!

I know!

If it was an accident and the cat accidentally fell/jumped out, that'd be one thing, a sad story but this the physical act of hurting an animal like that is just too much.

People are desensitized by the news alone so who knows? I'd like to think the vast majority would teach their kids not to do this or at least have the sense to not have to do that to feel any sort of emotion, but there are definitely some sick people out there.

sad
