It's almost here folks!

For those of you arriving Thursday evening or Friday morning, we have some special things planned. Since it's a small group who will be here for those times, we'll contact you directly to organize.

The following is the (mostly) planned itinerary:

Friday 4p-9p

Happy Hour/Early Meet and Greet at



Located in Dinkytown, a cute little neighborhood adjacent to the U of M, this comfy, cozy bar/cafe features 2 for 1 drinks (4-7) and tasty treats for the hungry kitty. All ages are welcome. (THIS MEANS YOU-HOBBES!) The Kitty Cat has multiple rooms with good airflow for non smokers AND an old school photo booth!

Friday 9p-?
This is a choose your own adventure night. Since many people won't be arriving until Saturday, we thought it best to save the big night out for Saturday night. So, we'll come with ideas and info about club nights in town.
We just discovered that HAR MAR SUPERSTAR is playing in town this night! The show is at 10 at the Triple Rock Cafe. Cover is $10. Tickets can be reserved beforehand through the Triple Rock web site. If Friday night people are interested in this, we'd recommend reserving tickets in advance so let's coordinate. Let us know what you think about this idea.

Saturday morning
Do what you like! We can offer suggestions for breakfast, people can coordinate on Friday night, take a drive to Paisley, whatevs!

Saturday 1p

Everybody's goin'



We will be meeting inside the main entrance of Calhoun Square at the corner of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue. We will have a few hours to see the sights, do some shoppin, snap some photos, whatevs.

Saturday 3p
THE OFFICIAL MEET AND GREET at the Uptown Bar and Cafe located across from Calhoun Square on Hennepin. (Minnesota folks, if you can only attend one event- this is the one!) We will make sure everyone's received their laminates, take more photos, eat some good chow and pick up a fancy souvenir glass. Of course, all ages are welcome here (HOBBES!).

Saturday evening
Relax, take a nap, do what ya like!

Saturday 8:30p
Optional pre-bar at The Rock Bottom Brewery located downtown on Hennepin Avenue (between 8th and 9th streets).
Need a beer before the bars? Need a nice greasy lining in you before we kick things off? Wanna shoot some pool? You can do all of this and more!

Saturday 10p
Dancing and Drag at the Fabulous Gay 90s! Located downtown on Hennepin Avenue and 4th Street. Meet in front at 10 sharp and we will guide you through: the dance annex (techno and house room), the 'ghetto bar' ('exotic' dancers and r&b/top 40 music), the old men bar, the leather bar, the La Femme Show Lounge and the retro room (our favorite room to dance and hang out in-The DJ is very Prince friendly). As an added bouns for you adventurous men, Endo will guide you through the Men's room- ladies, trust me you DON'T want to go here

As Ella found out, our suggested hotels are booked. Do not despair. There is hope. Contact CarrieMpls or myself for help.

one more reminder:
Minneapolis has enough public transportation that cars aren't a necessity, but they do make things easier. For those who are not planning on renting a car or coordinating rides with someone, getting to downtown from the airport should be easy. Busses from the airport leave every 15 to 30 minutes to the nearby light rail station which then brings you downtown. Busses from downtown to Uptown are easy as pie!

I was going to wait until I had a little more info, but...

If enough people are interested and the cost is not prohibative, I took the liberty of scrambling Dansa's artwork into a T-Shirt Design

SOOOOO....how many of you would be interested in T-shirts if I can get 'em screen printed for like $10-$15????

I swear I will take the time to call my friend's dad (who owns the place I would get them done) tomorrow now that I have artwork in hand. If I can get an idea of the # of people interested I can get a better idea of price.

Also, for the curious and/or budget minded, cover charge at the 90's is $5 and First Ave will be $5-6 after midnight. Nothing else we've planned has a cover.

Weather:

Current forecasts are showing highs in the low 50's, overnight lows in the high 30's, and rain showers likely.



But then, this is Minnesota, so it could all change in a matter of days (or a matter of minutes, really). The temperature doesn't bother me so much (you'll just have to bring a coat!) but I'm hoping to avoid the rain.
