I forgot Markus!

eek drool Who is he??

That is Marcus Schenkenberg. He's a male model and yes, he does look good as hell. I think he's also been in a few music videos too. He is also an ex-boyfriend of Pamela Anderson.

Who isn't???? Actually, I ALMOST bumped into her in Vegas. I turned around just in time. Good thing too, since she had a bodyguard who looked like he was ready to rip my head off. Thing is, I have no interest in her whatsoever. She looks like she's made of plastic (even more so in person). It was like almost running into a giant Barbie doll.

Whoa! Richie Ashcroft woot! He's been one on my favourites (incl. The Verve) for a while now thumbs up!

Do you mind if I interview you!, via OrgNote, about your interview with the famous Wigan man wink

biggrin

lol sure...and it was when he was still with The Verve... biggrin

I can better that. Met Richard, had coffee with Richard, had a spliff with Richard - all during the recording sessions for 'Urban Hymns' no less. How? Cuz my buddy Youth produced the MF!! lol

As for 'bumping' in2 someone famous/infamous etc - the only time that's happened in the literal sense was when I was walking out of WHSMith in my hometown (think something along the lines of Woolworths non-Brits!) and Steve Winwood bumped in2 me.

Oh and when I went 2 see Bootsy Collins at The Hannover Grand back in the mid-nineties, Lena Fiagbe (anyone heard of her? No? thought not...)told me to get out of her way in a rather diva-esque manner. I told her to go fuck herself.

I worked at a hotel this summer and Billy F. Gibbons (the lead singer of ZZ Top) was in town buying art. He stayed at my hotel.

When I got off my shift, he happened to walk through the door, and invited me and my co-worker to have a drink with him.

We went downtown and all got absolutely wasted. He paid for all of our drinks, and tipped the bartenders ridiculous, extravagant amounts. He took pictures all night with his digital and spoke little of his career, rather more interested in the relatively mundane lives of me, my co-worker, and her boyfriend. The whole time he was a gentleman, and very concerned about keeping our "group" intact. He was recognized everywhere - I guess the beard is a straight giveaway.

The highlight of the night for me, though, was when I asked him if he knew Prince. He told me that Prince is "one cool dude" and offered to call him for me. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to speak to Prince, and Billy dialed a number into his cell phone, then handed the phone to me and told me it's "Wendy." I knew immediately which Wendy he was referring to. So I spoke to Wendy Melvoin on the telephone. She said Prince was not around. She was doing some managing for his tour this summer, and that's why Billy gave her a call (I don't think he had Prince's number, just Wendy's). She was very nice, considering it was late and I was drunk, probably slurring my words and being very loud. I remember thanking her for everything, and to please leave Prince the message that Bethann from NC loves him. She said she wrote it down, and would give it to him the next day.

My co-worker and her boyfriend walked home from the bars, and Billy and I took a taxi back to the hotel, where my car was parked. The street that runs from the hotel to downtown Wilmington is a very long one, saturated with neon signs for restaurants and strip malls, loaded with traffic lights. The driver was taking his sweet time, too, because he was so excited to be driving a "celebrity." The ride home was quite long and slow. I was woozy with alcohol. Billy took my hand in his and stroked it softly, staring straight ahead. As I looked at his profile - his aged face, his long scraggly beard, his funny little hat - with the backdrop of the bright streetlights and neon lights, and with my hand in his, I remember thinking, How strange life is.

at the "rave" taping i literally bumped into johnny lang and stood between lenny and george clinton. after a movie here in chicago, my friends and i bumped into gwen stefani (and the rest of no doubt) as they were going into the whiskey bar and grill. i had lunch next to russell simmons when i was in la and i also (almost) bumped into penelope cruz while shopping on rodeo drive. i crossed paths with elvis costello at a u2 concert in miami and my friend chatted him up for a bit about their hometown (they're both from the same town). at the bowie show in january i went to get in line for a drink before the show started and billy corgan bumped into me on his way to the mens room.
