The simpsons! Is this the best thing since tv began? I think so.....yes even better then "hammerman"!
Seriously, forgetting the sitcom slowness of the first couple of series, r their any programmes more enjoyable and most consistantly enjoyable then this? God damn this show is good! Praise the Simpsons 4 saving tv!

Those in the know know that the Simpsons is the greatest accomplishment of television. Innovative, fresh daring, it defined and defied pop culture at the same time. And with a cast of such brilliant writers and artists who pushed the envelope of series storytelling and direction so extremely, the show can't miss. Sure it's lost some of its edge recently, but even now it is still hilarious. And as for the slowness of the first few seasons, pick them up on DVD and watch them again. They remain fresh, vibrant, and important, mixing serious commentary on modern society and ideals with light hearted jokes and slapstick humour in a way no other show has been able to do. And no, I'm not overselling it. This show is truly, truly, truly deserving of its longevity. Perhaps equalled only by Seinfeld in its importance and quality. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal" - Carl Sagan

I love The Simpsons, even though I do think it was better back in the day.
I wish they could combine the animation quality of now with the writing of the earlier seasons when it was more about story and some heart than guest stars. I still love it-I just miss the combination of it being hilarious and the great writing. Seems when Conan left it lost a bit of that. (I still say Futurama never got its due.)

I thought that The Simpsons was really clever when it first arrived, but seriously folks, the series' have so declined over the years. Whereas before there were two distinct levels to the humour, now it really does seem to be geared towards kids high on E numbers... ..... BULLSEYE!

I much preferred Futurama, that's why Philip J. Fry was my avatar for the longest time. It's a travesty it got cancelled.
The Simpsons used to be must-see TV, it isn't any longer.

I love the Simpsons, although it has kind of fallen a bit in the last few years. Futurama was definitely underrated. Who doesn't love Bender or the scientist??? "I like stealing, I like taking things" "What about my right to bear doomsday devices?" classic
