I think the ending was just right for the Extended Edition, but I have to side
with the masses and say that it was a bit too much for the theatrical release.

My personal opinion is that the theatrical release should have ommited all the
return to the Shire scenes. After the big pull-back from Minas Tirith, after
King Aragorn says "My friends, you bow to no-one", we should have gone to the Grey Havens, and the film should have ended with the boat passing out of the
harbour as it disolves into white.

For one crazy night in cleveland Saturday, Dec. 18, at cleveland State University, an art gallery is going to show all three extended DVDs in-a-row. The extended Fellowship starts at 11am, fllowed by a one-hour lunch break. Then The Two Towers extended shows after that. A dinner break is scheduled before 8pm and then an hour later is the Return of The King extended version.

I know it's one crazy undertaking, but I'm planning, and i'm sure i'm not the only one, to make my own LOTR one day. Bring all three extended versions on my hard drive, and just start cutting and re-arranging scenes to my own liking.
Although i do have that nagging feeling Peter Jackson knows his stuff, and not many other versions will work out that well.
You don't scare me; i got kids

I watched it yesterday! woot!

It was simply awesome... I really did like it better than the Original.

What about that dog gone Aragorn? It showed a very tender side to him.. I was drooling all over myself...

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown
