The Batman Anyone else here digging this show, besides me?
My expectations were a little low, since The New Batman Adventures series, set the bar so high during '97 – '99. So far so good... even with a new animation team, new cast, the short bat-ears, redesigned characters (the Joker) and their origins (Mr. Freeze), theme song by The Edge (U2)... I am enjoying it so far. Anyone else? http://www2.warnerbros.com/thebatman/ • http://wf.toonzone.net/WF...an/guides/

Saturday mornings... I believe they've shown about 9 episodes already.
I'm still waiting for The New Batman Adventures to come out on DVD... seems like it's going to take forever.

What the hell did they do to the Joker??? He looks like some kind of hippy!

Of all the new character deigns, he is my least favorite. They really did a hack job on him.
Have you seen any episodes? The Joker was pretty well written and acted, but it is kinda hard to get past that crazy "hippy" look.

So far, I'm enjoying it. There are a few complaints, such as the Joker's design (although, it does work better when you can see him in action. The stills don't really show the character's personality), and the absence of Gordon, Montoya and Bullock really irks me.
Still, overall, the show is pretty good. Not as good as Batman: The Animated Series (and all its various incarnations), but still damned good. I particularly like the episode that introduced the Joker. Ol' Mr, J hints at his "Killing Joke" origin, but doesn't come out and reveal it. Arkham Asylum is nicely depicted, and they focus on the playboy facade of Bruce Wayne quite well. Alfred is dead on, and once again one of my favorite characters. Oh, and I can't forget the totally wierd, yet fantastic, interp of The Penguin! i like the new cartoon's logo!
i checked the show's site (which is really, REALLY cool) - the joker redux is kinda cheesy. a little bit too surfer-dude for my tastes...ya really can't break away from the purple bowtie and tails with the joker, it just isn't right.

I like how they patterned this picture
after the now-classic Jim Lee cover to Batman #608 Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
