I just ate butternut squash ravioli in a hot red pepper sauce

I experimented with making my own butter-based sauce with cayenne pepper as the main flavor and it was damn yummy.

Oh, and....

KISS ME!!!

um. black pepper and a wee bit of butter and salt. but it mixed to a nice yummy light sauce that was a little pink and a WHOLE lot spicy, not to mention it went perfectly with the squash filling. drool

I can imagine! I wonder what it would have been like if you put a little nutmeg in there too? drool

If you can get it...find the actual nutmeg (in its nut-form) and a little grater. It's fresh that way smile Oh, I bet Trader Joe's would have it!

Trader Joes' spices kick my ass! The sea salt grinders are one of the most important things in my kitchen now, and all their spices are really cheep and really yummy. That's where my butternut squash pasta came from (of course...I'm such a member of the Cult Of Joe lol ).

When I'm all better, I've got to go up there. That place can do no wrong in my eyes (minus the grotesque veggie nuggets barf )

oooh, you gotta try the new (to my store, anyway) thai veggie potstickers, if ya haven't already. and their instant frozen biryani is a staple in my house too - yum yum.

if i were out there, i'd totally make a TJ run for ya...and not just for an excuse to go shopping there! giggle

Awww... smile you're so sweet! biggrin hug (even if it was just an excuse to go shopping biggrin )

I'm gonna check those out! How do you cook the potstickers and what's in the biryani...just peas and stuff?

the potstickers can just be microwaved if you're in a hurry, or you can steam them or you can fry 'em up with some sesame/wok oil. and the biryani is a rice dish with peas and raisins and i think little chunks of apple and some onion, mixed with a really delicious curry powder. it's cheap enough that it's a perfect thing to have on hand when i'm hungry for a super quick lunch and i'm too lazy to wanna actually PREPARE something. you can just throw it in a bowl, heat the stuff up on the stove or in the microwave, et voila! there's another instant frozen indian rice dish at TJ's too, though i can't remember what it's called...gobi moreng or something like that...it's okay, but i don't like it as much.
