Is it always BAD to sleep behind your partners back?

Or can it, under certain circumstances, be healthy for your 'proper' relationship?

doh!

If I'm interpreting the question correctly ("Is it always bad to sleep with someone behind your partner's back?"), the answer, of course, is "no". To wit:

Just the other week, I was caught in flagrante delicto. At first, my girlfriend went ape-shit and threatened to "cut (my) dick off!". After I took the time to explain that I was boff ing this other woman stricly in the interest of improving the health of our own relationship, she saw the light of reason and I'm happy to say we are now expecting twins. biggrin

IMHO behind the back means that it is a betrayal of trust and that in its self will never strengthen a relationship

I think it depends on the type of relationship you have. If you and your partner have said that you both will be faithful, then its wrong. However, if you have an agreement that you can sleep around, just not form other relationships, then its cool. I think that you should just be up front about everything so you won't have to lie. Although I know that sometimes, "it just happens." When I was in college and not active I told my boyfriends to do whatever they wanted, b/c they weren't going to get anything from me except for foreplay. So I didn't care, but that also left me open to flirt etc. w/ who I wanted. cool Some people can handle these type of relationships and others can't.
I don't get jealous of other girls, so for me its not a problem. I also don't like being controlled so I don't try to control others.

What if you live hundreds of miles away from your partner, only see them once every 2 months...and you're worried that your being completely out of practise might make them want to seek proper action while you're apart?

So what your question should read is " I am working away at the moment and have met a hot French girl that I really want to shag the arse off. Does anyone think my girlfriend would mind if she found out I had done the deed?"

That's cool as long as you don't have a problem with your partner doing the same thing.

This one always kills me - the "open" relationship. falloff What's the point of having a "relationship" if you're shagging other people left and right?

Everyone is diffrent and have their own definition on what a relationship should be like. In many parts of the world people have more than one spouse. I personally do not currently hold this belief and have a monogamous relationship myself. However, when I was in college I believed in something different. I didn't ever want to get married, and didn't like it when guys got too attached to me. I would always tell them to do whatever they wanted. I didn't care as long as I came first before the other girls and when I wanted to be alone they left me alone. You have to do what makes you happy. Not conform to what people/society tells you is the right to thing to do.
