In your mouth, yes - but what about the corn hole? That's where I have the issues.

After eating hot food such as curry or chilli, it's well known that dairy products such as milk or sour cream are much better than water at releaving the pain...this is because the 'hot stuffs' (e.g. the capsaicins in chilli) are generally fat soluble, so drinking milk would dissolve any capsaicins in the mouth, and allow them to be washed down your throat - thus stopping them from continuously smarting your nerve endings.

I'd guess that the 'ring of fire' effect is caused by the same chemicals - pure capsaicin is a potent chemical burning agent - most likely, folks with continuous ring-of-fire syndrome either can't break these things down efficiently, or are simply more sensitive to them.

I think the best remedy for your anal dilemma is:

- prior to consuming spicy-hot food, warm a brick of lard in the microwave for 3 minutes at 900 watts.Remove trousers and undergarments, and using index finger, smear a layer of liquid lard both around the star of your butt-crack, and the inner rectal-canal. The latter coating must be acheived with at least third-knuckle depth in order to guarantee that all sensitive tissue is coated with fat.

- remember to wash your hand before you commence eating. Especially if you intend to eat hand-held Mexican delicacies, or curry the 'traditional' way.

- Immediately after you have committed to your first post-cuisine fecal excretion, initiate a self-enema, using a long plastic tube - the 'anal' end greased-up for ease of entry, the other end attached to a funnel, into which you pour at least 2 litres of 19:1 water/detergent mixture.

- You will emediately feel the need to excrete again: in doing so you will rinse away any remaining capsaicins and fat from your rectal-canal.

This method is very effect for preventing the ring-of-fire effect, but can be quite laborious for someone who is inexperienced, and quite messy for those who also suffer from the squits after hot food. A costly alternative is teflon coating.
