It sounds like they were having fun. Rabbits are really smart ,you can train them to use a litter box and let them have the run of your house. You just have to be careful because they will chew on anything including electrical wires.Personally ,I still wouldn't buy them from a pet store, but they really are cute little critters. biggrin biggrin

nod they are. I used to have two rabbits. But they lived outside in a raised caged, since we live kinda out in the country. They were easy to keep up with too...I used to take them out of their cages and just let them run free in the yard for exercise...and my cats would play with them, like they were other cats. It was cute to see cats and rabbits bonding.... sigh I miss those days. They were huge rabbits too.....bigger than the cats omg We had to get rid of them, because not only did they get too big for their cage, but it turned out that one was a male and the other one was a female and ended up having babies. The man who sold them to us got them confused and said that they were both female. You shoulda seen the look on my face when I went down to the cage to feed them after school. eek And to make matters worse the mother rabbit was eating her babies.....I'm not sure if that's normal for them to do that. The babies she was eating might've already been dead though. There were about 8 that lived. The ones that were alive only lived for two days, because we weren't expecting them, so we had no clue how to take care of them. We tried to bottle feed them warm milk...but that didn't work. sad I would love to have dwarf rabbits.....they're probably easier to take care of, since they're so small.

Ihope you get the dwarf bunnies, they're just adorable! biggrin I think mother rabbits often eat or kill their young, not very maternal I guess. Maybe a veterinarian could have helped you with formula or maybe cat milk from the store might have helped. .it is so hard to know what to do when you are not expecting a problem like that to pop up. confused

Thank You biggrin I could spend hours at that site. They had a lot of Angora rabbits too. They seem like they would be harder to care for, with the long hair and all. PetSmart had a lot of dawrf rabbits.....last time I went in there, so if I do decide to get one....I'll probably go there. A lot of cats were up for adoption too....I don't plan on getting another one though.

I couldn't agree more, hopefully people should be prepared for a long term commitment, my parents had a siamese cat that lived to be 23 years old, and I had a Border Collie that was 17.
The petfinders.com site is a great place for people in the US to check out the different animals that need homes. They are usually pretty careful about who they allow to adopt. It's a good thing

FEELING VERY ATTACHED TO AND PARTICULARLY IN LOVE WITH UR PETS! When I feel appreciative about my pets and the joy they give me (which is almost 24/7), and I patronize a pet shop I tend 2 spend too much on the babes. I like 2 make them happy, but of course I know MY LOVE does that already. BUT they still get SPOILED, BIG TIME!
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses
