from a company called The Blackwell Group. I'm not supposed to be getting such calls, since I am on the "Do Not Call" list, so I'm not sure how the hell they got my phone number. Anyway, the person on the other end of the phone started going into her spiel and I cut her right off. I told her something to the effect of, "I'm not interested, and besides, you should not even be calling me. Take me off your list!"

I then hung up the phone and thought, "Uh oh, was that someone calling me about a job interview"? So I looked in the phone book, and there was a company called Blackwell and some other name, so I called it. I got a message saying that the number had been "temporarily disconnected".

I also checked on Monster.com, since it keeps a list of companies that you sent your resume to, and it was not on there. I also checked all of my recent emails that I had sent to different companies, to forward my resume, and it wasn't there either. I came to the conclusion that the chance of a company calling me on a Saturday to set up a job interview would be kind of rare, since most of these calls are made during business hours.

I then thought, "Blackwell Group", this doesn't have anything to do with John Blackwell, does it?" But I then discarded that idea, since I highly doubt that they would have my phone number. I wasn't registered on the John Blackwell website when they were taking up collections for John's daughter who had recently passed away.

So I think it boils down to it being a sales call, which makes me mad, since I am on the list not to be contacted. I'm going to make note of the name of the company, date and time called, so if they have the audacity to call me AGAIN, I will report them.

I think that non-profit's can still call you. I'm not saying they are but it's a possibility. The federal DNC list has so many loopholes it's a bit of a joke.

Out of curiousity I googled Blackwell Group Ohio and interestingly enough your SOS is a man named Blackwell and he is very hated right now because people think the Ohio state elections were somehow rigged. I doubt it's related but it struck me funny.

That is funny. I knew that certain groups (non-profit, political, etc.) can still contact you even if you are on the list. It probably was a non-profit group that was calling me.

We don't have enough rules right now here to block those kind of calls.
What they do here, is have automated machines call you. And every time I get home there's a recording on my nmachine from those companies. and you have no one to tell to not call again, unless you look up their number to call them and ask them to take you off their list.
