Hi Pej...I have a friend who drinks constantly, unapologetically. And he enables--actually encourages--others to drink...I think he might be the devil, actually. But he's my friend and I'm there for him...

Maybe you and your buddy should form your own chapter, where you set the rules?

I don't mind you sharing your life experiences here, and I'm always willing to contribute.

With that said... I think you two should find another hall to attend. I've been to A.A., and I'll say that there are lots of different meetings. Find one that you are comfortable with. His one drink will turn into several if he does not keep seeking support for himself. DO NOT let him isolate himself. Rather than fighting the powers that be, just repeat the Serenity Prayer.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

This thread goes deeper than you seem to have acknowledged gemini13... I used AA as an example and my friend that's not allowed is another example dear..... I guess this is one of those threads I write where you must read between the lines and come to think of it..... you seem to hate it when I do that but hey..... I warned ya I may take your advice and go with my friend to another establishment more accepting of our types..... get my drift?
