How come Cleveland always has such a high unemployment rate? The lowest unemployment rate Cleveland has experienced in the last 15 years was around 9 percent which is so much higher then the national average. The chart I saw said that unemployment was over 10 percent in 1996 when Bill Clinton ran again which is much better then the nearly 13 percnet when he took over. But the question is why does Cleveland have such a high rate of unemployment? I mean 9 or 10 percent is hardly good. Also, how far away is Cleveland from Cedar Point? Me and Amy were talking about taking a vacation to the theme park and then travelling to Cleveland to see a baseball game at Jacobs Field and maybe the RRHOF. As for me: St. Paul, Minnesota:

Bolton Town Hall
It's quite pretty really. When Reebok had their 100 year celebrations, John Forsythe and Linda Evans (Blake and Krystle Carrington) were guests of honour at a party here. I remember seeing them on the telly waving at the crowd as they went up the steps. This was at the height of Dynasty's popularity. It was pretty thrilling. The Old Man & Scythe Pub It was built in 1251 but rebuilt in 1636. I got punched in this pub two years ago. It was amateur band night and I grabbed the microphone and started shouting "Bomb the White House!" I thought it was hilarious but some Americans in the audience didn't see the humour. I ended up with a fractured cheekbone. Here's the central library, art gallery and museum. It looks sort of small in this picture, but it really isn't. It's huge. Here's the museum from another angle. The Magistrates Court is at the other end of the street. I ended up in court once too. It's a long story. I was charged with Criminal Damage. I had a criminal record for six years. It was all to do with a fight I had in a street which culminated in me kicking a car. I'm really not a violent person - I just never back down from a fight. I'd rather stand up for myself and die trying than run away like a coward. I'd never run away again. If people want to hurt you they'll just run after you anyway, so you may as well try and get a punch in. This is Halli'th' Wood. It's an old house where somebody called Samuel Crompton invented the spinning mule. Bolton has a long history of textile maufacturing. Burberry check was created in Bolton. Reebok is a Bolton company - the headquarters were in Bolton until the mid-nineties. Gandhi visited Bolton's mills in 1931. I don't know why. This is Liverpool Castle in Rivington. Rivington's quite a spooky place. Lots of stone circles and druid-type stuff. This is actually a copy of the original castle. It was rebuilt by one of the Lever brothers in 1912. The Lever brothers made their millions from soap and detergents. The company is a huge megalo-corp called Unilever now. Three districts of Bolton are named after the Lever brothers - Great Lever, Little Lever and Darcy Lever. This is the Reebok Stadium - home of the Bolton Wanderers soccer team. Probably a bad picture... It really is huge. It looks like a deflated souffle hanging in a macrame basket. They have concerts here now and again. Elton John's playing here next year. I don't know much about soccer but I do think that the Wanderers have the nicest soccer kit.

Me and Amy were talking about taking a vacation to the theme park and then travelling to Cleveland to see a baseball game at Jacobs Field and maybe the RRHOF. As for me: St. Paul, Minnesota: I think the reason why Cleveland has such a high unemployment rate is because it's kind of a sucky place to live. Many people have moved away from here due to lack of jobs, and frankly, I don't blame them. If I didn't have close family and friends living here, I would probably do the same. Cleveland is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours aways from Cedar Point, it's a great amusement park. Very big and it has over 10 roller coasters (if you're a roller coaster lover like I am). The Jacobs Field is a very nice ballpark, not overly big. I was told that any seat at "the Jake" (as we call it here) should be pretty decent as far as being able to see the ballgame. Of course, as everybody knows, Prince just got nominated into the R & R Hall of Fame here. I haven't been to the Rock Hall since his induction, but I would think that they would have some kind of a display honoring him. I hope this info helps. St. Paul is a beautiful city. I was there several times during one of the celebrations, when Prince was playing at the Excel Center. Great memories! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
