Did the NBA go too far...

when they suspended Artest for 73 games?

Thoughts and opinions needed.

Nope. Ron Artest is an idiot. Alot of these young players are. It's not all their fault, but they have a say in how they handle these situations too. I believe the fans who participated in that fight are just as guilty as the players, but the NBA had to send a message. I believe that was their intent, moreso than just punishing Artest.
On the lighter side, Artest now has plenty of time to promote the music that he so badly wanted to take a month off for. Well my man, the off-season starts now! lol

I actually agree with Odyssey with this...but I would like to add that the NBA is somewhat to blame also. If you go to a kid from the streets and tell him that you will give him 6-7 million dollars a year playing ball...you don't get a professional basketball player. You get a multi-million dollar kid from the streets. People in sports take the word PROFESSIONAL very lightly.

Take for example, Kobe Bryant. Here is a kid fresh out of HS and is thrusted into the NBA. I would not be surprised if no one properly advised him in having some kind of decorum or conduct in acting like a PROFESSIONAL athlete. Now look at him... disbelief

I think so. They're trying to make an example of this so no other player is foolish enough to run into the stands. While it will probably work, I still the entire season is harsh. What the fuck is gonna happen to those punk ass fans? whofarted

it all stems from Artest being an idiot out of touch with the real world people who have to actually go out and work for aliving, twelve months, he wants time off from a multimillione dollar job, when he already gets five to six months off anyway!, if Ben Wallace wouldnt have shoved him someone else would have, it was only a matter of time, Artes punked down from Wallace, but he chases the smalle st man he sees in the crowd, what a punk!
