I liked 'Phenom' but that was from 1991. In any case, I only liked it because the older brother Brian looked a bit like me.

Here's a fuzzy screen grab

she was the tennis girl? Judith Light was her mom? I watched a couple of episodes.

no clue. I remember Diana Canova having her own show after Soap. She was super cool. Is Soap available on DVD? That's funny shit!

I think they've started releasing "Soap" on DVD (I think from the same company that is releasing lots of classic 70s and now 80s shows like "ALl In the Family", "What's Happening" and others). I never really liked "Soap".

Probably not since in 1991, "Who's The Boss" was still on the air (I believe). I dig Judith Light so much when she is on "Law and Order SVU". She is just a fucking bitch and she rocks at it! I'm hoping they either make her a permanant cast member soon on the show or the new "Law And Order". Considering the fact that her appearances are more frequent and there was a long gap when she wasn't on the show (she did a failed sitcom for CBS), it could happen. Make to 80s sitcoms!

This will be the show that I will know Sarah Jessica Parker for. I didn't watch in during the original run (I was only 3, so maybe I did and didn't know it). They can't put this show on DVD fast enough but it seems like they are taking their time with it. I'm sure it will sell at least as well as "Alf"!

Anyone remember Evie frezing time with her fingers? Took me a while to figure out the name of this show but I got it by finding the woman who played the mom (Donna Pescow) and is now the mom on a show called "Even Stevens". A gulity pleasure. I remember this show being on one of the channels that wasn't a network and I think it ran like at 5 PM or something. I guess it was syndicated or whatever.

Oooh, Tom! Thanks for this thread!! I was thinking about doing a similar one, because I wanted to see if anyone remembered:

* Shirley's spinoff sitcom from "What's Happening!"

* "It's a Living," with Sheryl Lee Ralph and Ann Jillian

* Ann Jillian's sitcom "Jennifer Slept Here"

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Oh Fuck Yes!!

I was a bit young to be fully appreciative of the Young Ones, but by the time this came around I was at that age where immature humour was the best (i never progressed from that)

I loved this series - i was totally heartbroken when they didn't commission it again. sad

Anyone remember "It's Your Move" with Jason Bateman? It was one of the funniest, underrated shows of the 80's. They only made 18 episodes but if you search the net, you will see that it is still a cult favorite.

Why does every sitcom (especially the ones on UPN) have to have an asexual/gay/corny next door neighbor/friend of the family who drops by anytime he wants, goes into the refrigerator at all times of night, never shows any interest in f***ing the hot daughter, and eventually moves in/becomes a series regular in by the third season?

Because it works. Remember Urkel? It was the blessing and curse for...what was that show called...the Urkel show? "Family....Something". Originally, that show was all about the mom, who was a regular character on "Perfect Strangers" and she become one of the least popular characters...hell, her loser sister got more attention than her. The only postive memory I have of that show was I thought the song "What A Wonderful World" was so beautiful that I almost cried once. I'm so pitiful. Then Urkel become a regular and I think they changed the theme song to something more upbeat (I think it was something like "As Days Go By" or something like that).

I never actually saw that show but I remember when it and many other terrible TV talk shows were made fun of on "Talk Soup". In the ninties, everyone attempted and most failed at doing talk shows and it was funny as hell to watch.

Case in point - just watched an episode of 'Anything But Love'. Jenny Garth's sister on the show, Amanda Bynes (who's looking AWFULLY THIN these days) has the requisite straight/platonic male friend. He's played by the black guy with the silly afro. Anyway, Amanda's best friend (who's petite with a smoking hot body), confided to him that she's dreamed of making out with him - of course, in standard sitcom fashion, he acts like it's the most repulsive thing in the world...

I think I need to get out more...
