Last day of work ended with a fight

Okay. So my boss sold the studio to one of the sound engineers. more correctly, he's renting him the equipment.
The studio was supposed to go to the soundman on the 18th. Until then, the studio was still owned by my boss, who made me the manager because he has moved to NY.

So the last week of work was supposed to be mixing of this kids group funded by the city. We started working on the mixing, but the producer realized he didn't have enough funds to finish the mixing in our studio, and told me he'd have to pay out of his own pocket, and he'll even have to burn the CDs at home, because there's no more money to print them in a factory.
We did the mixing purly on a music software, not using any other machines. so I told him that if he has that program at home, he can continue there (He was more than qualified to do it by himself) so I told him he can cancel the rest of the sessions.

Now the other soundman heard about it, and started yelling at me rolleyes asking who gave me permission to let him go. Of course I told him "I gave myself permission, since I'm still the manager of this place until the 18th." so he started accusing me of stealing work from the studio. That's when I started laughing because I realized I was talking to a lunatic.

Then he tells me "It's a shame we have to end things this way, I really wanted you to continue working here"
That made me laugh even harder, because I told him two weeks ago that I don't want to work for him, since I don't get along with him. So why would he think I still want to work there? doh!

The guy is just crazy, and I really wanted to slap him for accusing me of stealing work. But I thought I'd better just let him go on with his pathetic self. Knowing he won't last long in this business, since all of the clients are complaining that he's too slow, and don't want to work with him.
Not to mention he raised the prices, and kicked out someone who pays him rent to use the small studio which is not in use by anyone else.

rolleyes

On that last day, with all the bad energy, I got a call from a singer I worked with a few times. She's telling me there's a guy who's thinking of opening a new studio, and is looking for someone to run it for him, and she thought of me. So they're gonna call me soon and we'll see biggrin

Ooooo kaaayyyyy, that was my runt of the day biggrin
You may go now biggrin

I can always burn down the studio if I feel like it. But I don't care much for him, that it doesn't bother me.
This guy has too many characteristics that I dislike, and I'd rather forget him than deal with him.
Not to mention he'll go out of business soon enough anyways, since nobody wants to work with him. And he has raised the prices, so the ones who did agree to work with him, will not agree to the new prices.

He's doomed, and he's doing it on his own.

One good thing could come out of it. The deal he had for getting the studio, is practically a gift. the equipment is worth about $100k or more, and he had come up with a deal of paying $800 a month for 5 years (about $50k) and that's it!. So not only he's paying half the price, he's paying it over 5 years.
If he falls, I might take over. I have so many clients who would love it if I had my own studio.
