I'm not vegetarian (wife is), but I have never cared for the fake meat products, usually it means soy based with that horrible fake smoke flavor. The best veggie burgers I have had are the ones that taste like vegetables. Now I'm older than movies, Now I'm wiser than dreams, And I know who's there

i like their fake wishbone. i've never actually tasted tofurky but the whole idea seems so campy and cute. even if it tastes like ass at least you can justify it by saying it's in the spirit of thanksgiving.

it also appears that there a titch of controversy over the protein substitute used in their products as it may be allergenic to some. I'll say that we've eaten their products many, MANY times with out any problems.... http://www.quorn.com/ lemme know whatcha think about the tofurkey, though! I hope your experience is better! the bulk ingredient is some kind of mushroom derivitive (sp?) vi

and to celebrate the occasion, i FINALLY bought one of these... i'm not a huge fan of animal-shaped meat replacement foods, but this year, i just had to see what the fuss was all about. have any of you tried Tofurky? is it worth the $$? or should i just have bought a nice hunk of marinated tofu? for T.G. this year i'll have the usual: Starfish and Coffee, maple syrup and jam, hog maw skins, chitlin rings, side order of ham, with some Red Kool-Aid baby, then you'll understand, Starfish and coffee, green eggs and ham.... ..and oyster corns... Yep, you're right. It uses egg white. I'm a vegetarian (not vegan however) and eggs and "E" numbers are my only vices that I'm having difficulty phasing out. I managed to 'weed out' gelatine though, so there's still hope "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."
