so, i finally did it... after two years of petsitting over Thanksgiving and Christmas, with no time to even think about cooking a nice dinner, i am looking forward to having both holidays off! 
and to celebrate the occasion, i FINALLY bought one of these... 
i'm not a huge fan of animal-shaped meat replacement foods, but this year, i just had to see what the fuss was all about. have any of you tried Tofurky? is it worth the $$? or should i just have bought a nice hunk of marinated tofu? | |

Where I live eating tofu isn't really much of an available option, so I can't reccommend this or not.
I'm mostly just saying hi.

maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did. Or, maybe they've improved it. I had one of these maybe 4 years ago and I was not impressed. I'm not sure if you ever were a carnivore, but it reminded me of something we ate all the time when I was growing up: Turkey Roll- reprocessed white and dark turkey meat held together by some nasy gellatinous substance. bleccch. Hopefully they've improved it tho! | |

ps- Quorn products make a "turkey" roast which is one of my favorite meat substitutes EVER. I just did a quick search on google and it appears, this brand originated in Europe so it may be easy for you to find.
it also appears that there a titch of controversy over the protein substitute used in their products as it may be allergenic to some. I'll say that we've eaten their products many, MANY times with out any problems....

this is the smaller version, kinda like a "breast", so i hope there's not much "jelly" around it... | |
