What's your profession?

I'm often struck by the wit and wisdom of people on this site. It makes me wonder what some of ya'll do for a living?

I'm currently laid-off, but I was the Assistant Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the Dept. of Psych of a local univerisity and its practice plan. Before that I was a news reporter.

currently, i work in an insurance agency, but i'll be done with college in december. woot! then i'll be a medical transcriptionist.

past jobs include: babysitter, telemarketer, janitor, waitress, factory worker, machine operator, construction worker, cashier/customer service manager, welder.

my favorite past job was as welder. i was really dang good! then i got laid off. pout damn downsizers.

i forgot, i was also a front desk clerk at a hotel, and a psychiatric technician at the regional center.

In my former job I was into 'green power' (electricity made out of natural sources) switching ppl from one provider to another....now I'm in the lubricants cool oil, waxes... In other words..I work for Shell boxed

oh lol

i forgot i was also a front desk clerk at a hotel, and a psychiatric technician at the "regional center".

all of those jobs i had for at least 6 months. most were for a year or more. and many were overlapping. i had 3 jobs at once one time! lol

my life is a lot less busy on the career front lately. once you become a mom it all changes. biggrin

I work in Merchandising for a major retailer in the middle market (Mervyn's). Basically I manage inventory for all of our 257 stores, forecast sales, deal with lame vendors, etc...fun.

Awww... pat You're still pretty young, kiddo. Things get more complicated as you get older... lol

Many times when I was in college I had three part-time jobs or one full-time job while taking a full load of classes. I cleaned cages in a pet store, babysat, did temp work, worked retail/stock in stores, telemarketing, office cleaning, data entry, file clerk, receptionist at a hair salon and at a law-firm, etc. You just do what you gotta do to make ends meet smile

Data typist, I make genealogical (family) trees of patients.
It is used in hereditary cancer research.
To find out if and/or how often people should go for mammograms or other check ups for cancer.

I do this since September and I love love2 my job!! woot!

C.O.O. of my family's bridal retail firm. Never thought I'd end up in the biz (was always the "artsy" type - musician, writer, etc.), but can't complain about the money and it allows me the freedom to get involved in creative endeavours if the mood strikes me (I also get my creative ya-yas out by working on the company's marketing).

I am a medicaid accountant for a non-profit agency for the mentally ill. Previous jobs have I held are dental assistant, data entry clerk, administrative assistant. I have worked since I was 12 and have never been out of a job more than 1 week.
