Who Wants To Play.... "WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKIN'!!"
(Although this one might qualify for "What the hell was I smokin'!") One from my early, early, early years..... Look at it, contemplate it, go deep and introspective...laugh out loud and wrap fish in it...whatever. But try to give me some insights as to just what the HELL I was thinkin' when I created this doozy: *As always, a title would be nice, too.

Title: Monkey needs Ducolax
What were you thinking?: "I wonder what a monkey looks like when it needs to take a dump and can't" I'm firmly planted in denial

"A Mystique on Arid Borders"
what I see in it is man reaching back to some primeordeal essence when confronted with or attacked by something that has been waiting to come so long that it's had time to acquire metaphysical proportions. This is here left out of the picture, but it is (whatever you call it) what the figure in your drawing seems to hark back from and bark at. I say this because the body of the "animal" has human-like shapes more so than an animal's. Yet the head represents a more basic organism, perhaps a primate. Plus, the way it is placed before, or amids those spiked branches reaching up symbolises a retreat and a defence at the same time. It's bodily movement is one of retreat but the background is threatening on it's own, and seems to shield the figure. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I'll fill in the actual origins of the drawing later...just want to see what it sparks/triggers/instigates in others first. I actually can't say what I was thinking/feeling at the time I drew it, often when I do one of these threads the responses often connect with a very real truth or insight that I hadn't considered at the time...

Actually I think it is great, and it fits very well on the book I'm reading (George R.R. Martin's A game of thrones).
Your artwork would very well fit into fantasy. Time flies like an arrow

Had you just watched 2001 A Space Oddity .. or some weird episode of Star Trek or something? Seems very "evolutionary" to me.
