There can definitely be a comfort zone around it. I have friends I hug a lot and friends I almost never hug. I'm not exactly sure why. It just is.

For me it depends on the person. I have friends I touch and hug all the time,thats my nature. I have friends who arent very affectionate,so I dont touch them at all.

It depends on the person. Aside from my mom and sister, most of my family are really uncomfortable with intimate contact. They're just not huggers.

How much I hug and kiss my friends depends on how comfortable the other person is with it. Some are A-OK with snuggling on a couch while watching a movie, or creating a "cuddle puddle". (A bit like a group hug, but cuddling. Picture puppies sleeping.) And other friends it's better to stay out of the personal bubble.
