Anybody tried the new FIREFOX browser? FIREFOX, ANYONE? I've had it for a while now and IMO it's the BEST browser by far. It has some cool features and I haven't had a single popup since I started using it. It has some cool plugins too. You can download a plugin that allows you to zoom in on webpictures, and one that even allows you to download every single multimedia file off a webpage. Version 1.0 was released today and it sure kicks Internet Explorer's wannabe browser ass. Try it out and lets hear you. www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ [Edited 11/9/04 10:43am] M.2.K

LLENA...
Take my word for it, the installation is not "tricky" at all. Furthermore, it is not dependent on any plugins. You can choose standard installation as recommended or opt for the advanced installation. There really is nothing to it. Also, the writer believed that plugin meant 'taking the case off your computer and start randomly plugging things into other things'. A plugin isn't hardware but piece of software used to enhance an application by providing additional features. Lleena said: Someone asked me to post this...

It seems like they made it load a little faster now than the preview release.
Firefox has some really convenient features, but it's not as customizeable as IE. You don't have as much control over the toolbars to arrange them how you want them, and I don't really care for the built in search box, its limited in features. Firefox does a much better job of managing passwords and downloading files. With IE, remembering passwords was hit or miss - half the time it never works. I've been teetering between Firefox and Internet Explorer for a while now. I do web development, so no matter what, I still have to preview my pages in IE constantly, since thats what most people use. Also, FireFox still has a few quirks that make it seem a little rough around the edges. When you resize a window, it flickers alot. When viewing some forums, it seems to lag quite a bit with loading all the images. Also, on sites that do utilize pop up windows as part of their layout, FireFox seems to screw them up a bit - specifically, windows that need to be a specific dimension, just open up as full screen.

I am not familiar with this "FIREFOX" you speak of. I just found out about the "internet" recently.

I'm kinda going back and forth between the latest IE and the latest Firefox. Not sure if I like one more than the other yet.
