No, I work at an American Book Cernter in Amsterdam (one out of three stores) that have this laid back mood when it comes to selling books. I don't earn shit because of that, but havent been happier with a job in a looooong time. I was unhappy as a well paid back office assistant in Paris. But happy as an under paid book sales man in Amsterdam... huh? a supervisor at the borders i used to work at used to be a lawyer-she gave it up 'cause she couldn't stomach it anymore(she was on a defense team for john wayne gacey!) and i have a friend who has a bachelors in chemistry from the university of chicago and works at borders also-what's his excuse? he's just a slacker and the job is more laid back.

RocknRollDave said: I work for a company who install music and video systems into restaurants/ hotels/ pubs etc.
My job is "Music Programmer". In other words, I compile all of the CD's that customers buy from us - I get to pick the tracks and suit the music to each venue/ brand etc. We also do hard-disc players - i.e. computers that play the music back, for which I have to compile the large lists of songs. It gives me room to be a little creative and it beats my previous job by a million miles. I used to work for a pub company as a trainee manager. The hours were horrendous, the work destroyed people and the company could kiss my ass for eternity and still I would bear the grudges. I design and sell the systems that play RocknRollDave's music

Since a lot of people also tell the other professions they had, I'd like to ad some stuff
When I left school (Technical Graphic) I started to work all kinds of jobs through and job agency (mostly factory and cleaning) After that I used to work for Phillips for a year, making drawings from the chip factory, where to place the machines and cables to operate the whole lot. The year after that I made a book for teaching the cleaners how to go about cleaning those kind of environments and did some office work. I also cleaned there myself in the evening hours. And worked at a florist arranging flowers. After that I went to New Zealand and back to school for a while (Interior Designer) Didn't finish that (got married and divorced again ) Worked at a VOC replica (Batavia) mainly making the sails for a year while studying evening school Interior Designer (again, not finished) Then I met alfie and started a cleaning job at the local hospital for a year. Was full time mum for a year, had a job supporting mentally handicapped people to live on their own for a year. And now I'm old
