"Alfie"

Just got back from watching this flick with Jude Law (and am currently grooving to the EXCELLENT soundtrack). Did anyone else see this movie over the weekend? I'm VERY impressed...but that might be because I think the Alfie character is so true to life.

What did you think?

Haven't seen it yet. I'm wary because I LOVE the original. Was it good?
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I thought it was wonderful. The thing is, I'm a guy with commitment-issues, so OF COURSE I liked it.

I never saw the Michael Caine version...

I did watch it the other night.

Interesting... the story line. Great display of life and how we tend to be so self-centered, careless and take life for granted... even when life is seemingly threatened. (life can be such a twist) When do we get that "wake-up call", the one that sets us in the direction that is healthy/well for our true-being as a whole? How much must one endure to get to that point? (true it all is unique for every person) The ending quote or saying at the end of the movie says it all.

So true.

Darlin', I guarantee you that Blockbuster does NOT have any old Michael Caine movies. You'll just have to wait until this weekend when I can drive to Bowling Green and go to the GOOD video store smile

The end quote IS perfect. And I especially like hw Alfie doesn't find any ANSWER...just a QUESTION. Actually, this movie sparked a long debate with my girl over my self-confessed hatred of monogamy. I'm not commitment-shy because I want to fuck everything that moves...but because I just tend to operate better not relying on anyone else and not having anyone else rely on me.
