I wear my sunglasses while driving and when it is sunny. You cannot see my eyes. I feel like Prince from Purple Rain, that straight expression on his face while standing behind Apollonia.

The right pair of glasses are definitely not unattractive and I think it can even be considered an improvement on some people.

Heavenly

I would like to say no. and that maybe it depends on the glasses you wear. some will look great on you and some won't.
Unfortunatly I didn't find a pair that has complimented my looks.
Last person I dated took them off of me when we were together, and I never put them back on since.

I'm not a big fan of my glasses, but they're so much easier than wearing contacts all the time. I usually switch between the two...

I think I look like Nana Mouskouri! lol

Agreed... with emphasis on the "right pair." In hindsight, I can't believe some of the glasses I used to wear. disbelief

These days, I almost always wear glasses... they're easier to deal with than my contacts, and they make me look closer to my real age. Without my glasses, I could probably still pass myself off as 18.

It all depends on the style. Get a pair that flatters you and it should be all good.

And remember: Catwoman wore glasses, and she was sexy.

Prince brought the glasses back out around 2000... I remember a really nice picture of him in Time magazine around that time with glasses and a black turtleneck.

Some tips for those of you are seriously nearsighted, like me, and wish to avoid "Coke bottle" lenses:

1) The smaller your frames, the thinner your lenses will be.

2) The rounder your frames, the thinner your lenses will be.

3) An anti-reflective coating makes the lenses less noticeable.

4) Get yourself some "high-index" lenses... preferably 1.67 or higher. Make some phone calls, ask to speak with the optician, and then ask him/her something like, "Do you offer 1.7 high-index lenses?" If the optician doesn't know what you're talking about, or makes some vague response like, "Uh, well, we do have a type of thinner lenses," then go elsewhere.

5) Avoid chain optical places, and try independent shops that cater to affluent clients. First, the eye exam at the chains tends to be less thorough. Second, the chains tend to sell polycarbonate lenses as their "thinner" lenses. Polycarbonate may be thinner than standard lens material, but it's still much thicker than high-index lenses. Plus, polycarbonate scratches easily, and its "optical quality" is bad (i.e., things don't look as clear when seen through polycarbonate). The only real advantage of polycarbonate is that it's virtually shatter-proof.

Following these tips can cost you a lot of money... don't be surprised if your exam plus glasses costs you $500... but you'll likely be very pleased with the results. I went from "Coke bottles" to having a coworker say, "Wow, it looks as if there are no lenses in your frames. Your prescription must not be very strong."

If I'm not wearing my contact lenses, then I'm wearing glasses. As far as the look of glasses...they don't really seem to bother me anymore. But it's kinda annoying trying to look out of the corner of your eye with the frame in the way.
