Gooey Got Star Struck...

I am from a little town in Holland where television stars and rich people are as common as tulips...

While in Paris I bumped into Madonna and could not care less...

But today, oh today....

Interlude;

Imagine....I lost my father when I was ten.... together with my dad I would watch plays by the Dutch Brando; Ko van Dyck; an inmense force on stage. My father was besotted with him.

Ko van Dyck died even way before my dad, but whenever there was a play on tele, he would sometimes get my out of bed secretly end we would watch together, my father telling me how amazing this actor was.

This Ko van Dyck had a step daughter called Linda van Dyck. She grew up to be just as great an actress as he was. I carried on my dad's fascination with both her and her step-dad's movies and have seen all of them in roulation.
Her acting is natural and her radiance just
explodes off the silver screen whenever she is on it.

Then today, at work. I am a bit bummed out. A customer approaches the til. I look up, straight in the eyes of still one of the most beautiful women in Holland.

It was of course Linda van Dyck.

I was SO star struck. The prettiest thing about her is that her personality seems as beautiful as her looks. She asked me about a writer I know pretty well and we ended up trading tips about good writers.

After she left to browse another floor in our store she even returned to ask my opinion on the books she wrote down. I ordered some books and promised to read a book she was hesitant to buy (Cloud Atlas).

Hehehe. I bought it immediately. Anything for Linda. I just hope she keeps her promise and returns to the store.

Boy oh boy, I am SO star struck.

It was amzing! It is just too bad the internet did not catch up with her... only some bad pics that do not do her justice.

She has dark brown hair and these blue eyes that just make you go weak in the knees. And her SMILES....

Awwww.

Surely not in anything YOU heard of...
LoL
Loads of Dutch theatre and television.
And some movies. Best known in Holland is Ciske De Rat.

Best known abroad is surely Daens. I think it was nominated for best foreign movie Oscar.

Does it have an English title?

I'm not sure if I've seen any Dutch films except for The Vanishing - but then I don't really watch many films at all. I have a short attention span.

Daens translates to Daens as Justin would translate to Justin...

LoL, it's a name. Like I said, she is Dutch based and down to earth. She never wanted to be a star. If you would have to compare her to a Hollywood star, she would equate to Isabella Rosselini. With Sissy Spacek's track record.
