After finding the recently released DVD of "Pee Wee's Playhouse Holiday Special" on DVD this weekend, I followed the URL printed in the credits and found this:

I was happy enough just to get the Christmas Special, cuz now I have the extra special scene with Grace Jones performing "Little Drummer Boy", not to mention the scenes with Charo, the Del Rubio Triplets, kd lang (who is WAY over the top in this) and, uh...Dinah Shore singing "The 12 Days of Christmas". This is the most whacked holiday special ever!

I can finally own the episode where he says "I love fruit salad!" and someone says "so why don't you marry it?" and he goes on to hold a wedding where he gets married to a bowl of fruit salad. THAT'S comedy!

What was it called???

He had these neighbours called Mr and Mrs Jelly-Doughnut and Pee Wee danced to a medley of Sly & The Family Stone songs. I think it culminated with "I Want To Take You Higher".

Somebody asked Pee Wee what his favourite cologne is and the line went something like:

"Pac-o Rrrrab-ahn? Old Spiiiiice? Brrrrrut?"

It doesn't sound funny, but it always stuck in my head.

I first heard about these discs a few months ago, and have been patiently waiting. I shelled out big bucks for the VHS set about 8 years ago, and wore those out! Now they need to release his 1980 (or so) HBO special to DVD!

Not to burst y'all bubbles...but I heard that the better versions are coming out after x-mas, with commentary, easter eggs and all kinds of wacky stuff. Now I am not certain about this, but I'd do a lil research before forking the money over. I was a bit upset by this news as I REALLY want to have these, but I want them with all the bells and whistles.

My favorite Pee Wee moment - things to do with an oversized pair of briefs! "I'm a nun!"

well, the christmas special DVD has two commentary tracks on it...so maybe what's coming out for christmas has all the goodies. they're advertised as having eight lost episodes.
