"live like you were dying..." I just smiled...again... endlessly. ~Smile... I was shopping in the grocery store yesterday evening and like always, I am drawn to so much...
I always pick up whatever draws me in... a book, a food craving... whatever... it may be. In most stores there are small selected set of books on a random shelf... and this is the one I bought. "live like you were dying" forword by Tim McGRAW Not a new concept for me... nevertheless it seems like a new concept each time I reflect on all new moments that come. (make sense?) Here are the lyrics... I am listening to it now on repeat. Artist: Tim McGraw Album: Live Like You Were Dying Title: Live Like You Were Dyin' He said I was in my early 40's, With a lot of life before me, And a moment came that stopped me on a dime. I spent most of the next days, lookin' at the x-rays, Talkin' 'bout the options and talkin' 'bout sweet time. Asked him when it sank in, that this might really be the real end. How's it hit ya, when you get that kind of news. Man what ya do. And he says, [Chorus] I went sky divin', I went rocky mountain climbin', I went 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fu Manchu. And I loved deeper, And I spoke sweeter, And I gave forgiveness I've been denying, And he said someday I hope you get the chance, To live like you were dyin'. He said I was finally the husband, That most the time I wasn't. And I became a friend a friend would like to have. And all the sudden goin' fishing, Wasn't such an imposition. And I went three times that year I lost my dad. Well I finally read the good book, And I took a good long hard look at what I'd do If I could do it all again. And then. [Chorus] Like tomorrow was a gift and you've got eternity To think about what you do with it, What could you do with it, what can I do with with it, what would I do with it. [Chorus] Sky divin', I went rocky mountain climbin', I went 2.7 seconds on a bull name Fu Manchu. And I loved deeper, And I spoke sweeter, And I watched an eagle as it was flyin'. And he said someday I hope you get the chance, To live like you were dyin'. To live like you were dyin'. To live like you were dyin'. To live like you were dyin'. To live like you were dyin'. "A lot of people assume that I recorded this song because of the passing of my father, Tug McGRAW. But my passion for this song goes a lot further. I love this song because I believe that everyone who hears it will have their own unique reaction to it. Each person has his or her own definition of what it means to "live like you were dying." That's what makes it such a great song. It's not just about my personal connection-- although obviously there is one -- it's about how you connect to it. I hope this song can provide inspiration for all of us to stop and take the time to appreciate all the blessings in our lives-- from the smallest things to the biggest dreams." ~Tim McGRAW ~~~~~ Exactly... this little book has many quotes in relation to "live as if you were dying"... One that caught my attention... and pertains to my everyday encounters... ~~~~~ WE'RE ALL TERMINAL Some of us are just lucky enough to know it. Life is a spiritual journey. And sometimes all you have to do is show up and have a little faith that something completely amazing is possible any day. And every now and then, right when you least expect it, something amazing does happen. And you are no more in control than a feather is of the wind. All you know is that the force moving you is so strong that you just hang on in wonder. There is nothing but the moment and the sense of dancing with angels. So ALIVE... ... Ohh, I like that.. but isn't it truth...
So many wait until tragedy strikes to enjoy life, nature, each other.. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

I know you have big, beautiful, dangerous, exhilerating, far-flung impossible dreams that you keep tucked away. You think so many things stand in your way of finding those dreams, those hopes, those wishes... of finding the you that you desire. You think it's too soon, it's too late, it's too hard, it's too crazy...
But all of that is about to change. The greatest journeys begin with a single step. Sometimes that first step is the magical leap a dream takes from the dark, silent depths of your heart to the brillant light and sound of the spoken word. Some say that once spoken, a sound never dies. Like ripples on a pond from a tossed stone, it reverberates on and on, back and forth, forever. That sound vibrates, spreads out, touches, finds resonance and harmonies, sets events in motion. Today, take that first step of the long journey and make your dreams known by giving them voice, substance, reality. After this, neither you nor your world will ever be the same again. So take a few moments to prepare. Take a deep breah, slowly in, slowly out. Pick up that smooth, cool stone that has been hidden in your soul for so long and prepare to shatter the still, glassy status quo forever. Now close your eyes and complete the most important sentence you may ever speak. I am...

In being of spiritual, mental, and material service to others, you will find your own needs fulfilled.
As you forget self in service to others, you will find that, without seeking it, your own cup of happines will be full. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

to all the above... it's a trying world we live in... although if we can come to the realization of our own personal power (know it, trust it, believe in it... within ourselves) along with the beauty of giving of ourselves, free of expectation...
it can and does become contagious.

Well...the thing is that we ARE all dying. Life is getting shorter and shorter by the day. There's no time to waste!

"And I spoke Sweeter"
You have the power to change someone's life, To give a moment that will be cherished forever. Deeper than deep, higher than high, A simple honest act can bring meaning and depth and poetry To someone who needs it more than they know. Your honest words say you care about... your friend, your family, your lover, your Savior. Your honest words say you cherish them, that you are better because of them, and that you would be lesser without them. So just say it now. Don't wait. You've waited long enough. ~~~~~ ~~~~~

Nice thread! I got this CD for my fiance for her birthday, and she then played me the song. WOW!
I love all of y'all!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Oh Andrea... I love you too.
~~~~~ At some point we all start to realize that the fabulous life and fabulous friends we had always thought we were going to have were not going to happen, and we just have to make do with the incredibly odd assortment we have been given. So the only thing to do is start treating your life and your friends and your time together... well... fabulously. I started telling those around me... I LOVE YOU Saying "I love you" is always a little hard at first (it all depends). But I just took a deep breath and did it. Pretty soon we all got used to it and I began to wonder if it had lost its power. But then one day something serious happened, and the calls went out and the prayers went up. We were all reminded just how fragile it all can be, how much these relationships mean, how connected we really are. A friend called for an update and at the end of the conversation, I said, "I Love You." He paused and said, "I Love You, too." And all of the meaning and depth and magic came rushing back stronger than ever. At that moment I was so glad I had made the effort to lift the intimacy in our little group to the point where it was OK to say the most powerful phrase in the world. ... ~~~~~ I love you all. That is not an understatement by me...
