"Birth" This may be one of the unsettling films I've seen in months. This is that movie with Nicole Kidman as a widower, who one day receives a visit from a little boy who says he's the reincarnation of her dead husband.
Yes, it makes you squirm and YES they DO take a bath together. And YES, this movie is worth seeing (despite an ambiguous ending). A GREAT film! Anyone else seen it?

Didn't really know what the part at the end meant. The part when she ran out to the ocean and was all hysterical. Didn't the boy turn out to be a fake? I didn't get the end! I hate films like that.

It's meant to be ambiguous. You're supposed to draw your own conclusion. Was the kid a fake? I don't think so. Memories of past lives come back sporadically. When you see someone or something that you knew in a past life, only then does that memory come back. And usually, it's only a partial memory. I think the boy IS Sean. I think he couldn't remember the Ann Heche character because there was nothing in the letters about their affair. And also because he didn't love her. He loved Anna; but he was just fucking the Heche character.
