It's one of them things in the US. Men play Baseball and Football, girls play Soccer. It's just the way it is. At least it's getting some exposure at last. and USA mens soccer team is now ranked 11th in the world by FIFA. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). That’s true, its an abbreviation for Association Football, the first standardised game of football set up by the first clubs in the UK back in the 19th century. Up until that point all the clubs played by slightly different rules. Association Football (or Soccer) are the basic rules upon which today’s game is based.
