With and With Out Make-Up

I need a make-up artist that can perform miracles, too! I've forwarded them on to a friend of mine who loves this celebrity or that, and I tell him, she's just a woman... without that make-up (and often times airbrushing) she'd look like everyone else you've dated... and they do.

thanx for posting this

i have always shown my daughters the difference of celebs "done up"

in hopes they wont take all those pics in magazines and the such as a standards on what THEY should like like

" airbrushed made up fake beauties "

i tell them their true beauty comes from deep inside and that NO make up or airbrushing can add to that

biggrin

The truth is, they picked the "worst" photos to make their point (one I agree with, actually)...everyone, whether looking their best or not, can get caught in that weird moment where their face is all screwed up, their eyes look tired and baggy, their hair looks like crap...and it might only be for a single moment in an otherwise good day. smile

These photos would do more "good" being seen by other women...can't tell you how many times I've told a female that she looks pretty in a photo, only to be told I was insane for thinking so...lol...most women look more like "movie stars" than they realize.

And just how do you know they picked the "worst" photos to make their point?! Huh? How? wink

And, I'm with Sag... it is rare that I put on a lot of make-up anymore... well... sort of, I guess. I use tinted gloss and eye-liner and mascara... no foundation and every once in a while... if going out, I'll use eye shadow... other than that... lol smile

Yeah, so... I'll give you that one. What about Pam Anderson's? Pretty much the same shot... just one with make-up.

Compared to Sheena Easton?! What?

Just on "looks", I think Cameron Diaz, Pamela Anderson, Madonna and Alicia Silverstone look just fine, as good as their "make up" photos even...but that's just me. Goldie Hawn's photo is unflattering mainly because of the facial expression...she looks like she's pissed or smelled something foul...lol. Britney and Christina Aguilera look fine as well, actually...they just look better in the made-up, airbrushed photos..but they still look fine without. Only Christina Applegate's photo really portrays her in a negative light in my view...

And in fact, even Christina Applegate's photo looks good...she looks like she's in the middle of doing yardwork or cleaning the garage...I guess I look at these photos as women doing everyday, normal things. And with that, they tend to look more attractive in my eyes, than when they're posed against backdrops trying to convey certain attitudes.

While make-up and Photoshop can do wonders, even these things cannot save a bad photograph (without totally compromising the original, that is). I have seen one of the most beautiful women in the world look like crap in a pic (and she looked stunning when it was taken - I was there).

And you look great hug rose

I personally prefer natural, or at least just a little to compliment what's already there. not to change your face to someone else's.

I've seen these photos on a celebrity board before and I agree with Byron that they used the most unflattering pics they could find for the 'before' pics so as to make their point. I've seen the uncropped Christina Applegate one and the girl was out running in that photo! I defy anybody to look good while running and they're sweating and all the skin on their body is being jarred up and down!biggrin

That being said, I also agree that it's good to see pictures like this. It's hard sometimes [mostly for women, I think] to not compare yourself to the "beautiful people" and then not start feeling at least a little bit insecure about your own appearance.

I enjoy makeup and when I go out to something really special I like to put on the works, but for normal everyday...next to nothing, usually. I just don't care as much anymore to go through the hassle, and also it's better for your skin the less makeup you wear on a daily basis.

Me too, I don't use makeup or wear my contact lenses much lately, especially since I'm not working, and don't have any real reason to. lol
