I suppose anything can be, it depends on how we look at it.

Some people's perceptions of life and the truth are just really fucked.

My wife is better educated and smarter than me and it suits me just fine.

We earn about the same rate of pay but I earn more cos i work full-time and she works part time (due to the kids).

I could think of nothing better than her earning loads more money than me then maybe I could give up work and do something interesting.

The thought of having a higher paid partner has never intimidated me and I've never been intimidated by having a female boss, in fact, I much prefer it.

I agree, if there's issues about "monet" and degrees your relationship has gone off track! nod

I meant "money". But if you've got issues with Monet you got big issues too! (great Artist) falloff

i find to be quite systematic of a male dominated society, miss sweeny.

as the times progress and roles are reversed, powers change.

for many men they find this is a threat upon their manhood.

it appears these are the same men who had to assert their power to matter.

i hope that it is understood that both parties have things to add.

There is no greater example of the truism that degrees do not gaurentee high income than looking at the pay of teachers. They are well educated yet get paid shit money for what they do.

wave Amen to that. As an educator, the only perks that I have is good benifits and vacation time.

I listen to this talk radio show "Love, Lust and Lies" and this was the topic today:

"Are men intimidated by women with a higher level of education then themselves, and if you are a woman with a degree or two, would you/do you date men who never attended college?"

I have my Bachelors in Special Education/Psychology and I plan on entering grad school soon to peruse a Masters in Psychology and or Education, but I have never dated anyone with a degree higher than an Associates. I guess I never thought about it. shrug but,I did have an ex tell me he was jealous of my university education.

I wonder what you guys honestly think.

I don't think men are intimidated, or should be, because of a higher educated woman as education comes in much too many forms than just "academic". Now if that woman is constantly speaking to him in a condescending manner and throwing her so-called intelligence at him at every turn, then it can cause the man to retreat into a shell on a lot of things. Or just leave.

tackam

Intelligence is high on my list of desirable traits in friends/partners. I know plenty of smart people without advanced degrees, however. Letters after ones name are not a requirement for dating.

Money. . . I wouldn't share finances with somebody who I thought was financially irresponsible, or who, if they made more than me, would make me feel bad about not being able to contribute as much financially. If I made a lot of money, I think I would really enjoy dating somebody who made less, actually. Maybe not if I were male, because there would be that golddigger stereotype that I'd be fighting, but as a woman, I think it would be damn cool to be able to spoil my partner. I eventually plan to go into a career that tends to be pretty lucrative, and the idea of giving my partners financial freedom. . . the option of following a passion, or flying them around to cool places or whatever, makes me very happy.

I regret that, currently, that is not an option. lol But I can dream.

Case

I actually won't date a woman who doesn't have/isn't pursuing a college degree. She also must have firm career plans beyond being a wife and mother.
