I've watched that show before and it has scared the crap outta me a few times! eek

And major respect to you ladies who've delivered your babes with no meds. I watched my sister in labor with her first child and well, it looked a tad...uncomfortable. lol

nod Very uncomfortable, in fact, I have even seen women vomit during labor. ill Thank God for pain meds, don't think I would survive without them.

yeah, i puked a little during labor too. it actually helps with the pushing! lol next time you're losing your lunch notice how everything pushes down. nod

i was in the whirlpool for a bit. it didn't help with the pain any, but it helped me relax more in between contractions so i dilated faster.

if you are holding another woman's child, is this also as precious?

i find it only causes confusion.

well, almost. the doctor was still poking around on me for a while. but i remember no pain now! i think most women must completely forget the pain of childbirth, otherwise the human race would've died out a looooong time ago! lol

Just got through watching "A Baby Story" on TLC, and they showed a woman delivering a baby with no epidural or no pain meds. I give that woman mad props, because I'm a woman myself, and I know at the first stab of pain, I would be hollering out for meds. I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, and I would want to be as comfortable as possible. lol

Done it 3 times.

Labour pains are natural. The body is just trying to push the baby out. Natures way.

My third child was a 2 1/2 hour labour - quick!

My friend went without drugs for her first child. She had always had such bad menstrual cramps that she said labor wasn't that bad! eek But her second child she got an epidural and said she felt nothing! She's tough as nails anyway.

If I ever have a baby, drugs alllll the way! Hell I may pop percocets before I get to the hospital...

She said it wasn't that bad?! Damn... it hurt me like a mother-fucker! It hurt so bad I couldn't even cry. However, when you're given the go-ahead to push, it is bliss! smile I have horrible, horrible "giving birth" stories with my two kids... awful, awful, awful... but, I'd love to do it again!

I have a very high tolerance to pain, and giving birth was bad, but I never passed out from the pain. I did, however, pass out from a cyst rupturing because my body went into shock from the pain... go figure. You'd think it'd be the other way around!
