Tips for PUTTING ON weight?


OK FELLAS & FELLETTES

Here's the deal. I'm male, stand at 190cm (6'3"), and weigh 80kg, and would like to add 10kg by the years end. I understand that I have a high metabolism because I eat a reasonable amount of food yet remain too damn lean -- nothing shows! mad

If I were female this would be considered advantageous but it isn't the case. I don't think people recognise how difficult putting on weight can be. Eating more just seems to be the half of it.

Is anyone here in a similar situation? Is there a way I can put on the weight without having to resort to chomping fatty unhealthy foods?

This worked for me, might work for you; drink a can of Ensure with your meals. I know it's a meal substitute but it did help me go from 140lbs to 190lbs in about six months. Weight training and a calorie high diet helped add on the other 10lbs. Good luck.

In the same boat ...high metabolism. I put on some good pounds by lifting weights and eating lots of protein (lean protein...tuna , chicken etc) protein powders and supplements are good too . By rule try to get 1gr of protein for each pound of your weight daily (sorry I dont have to metric equivilent. I am a damn American not on the metric system smile

Wowzers. I have the exact opposite problem. I can't not gain weight. Only tip I can give is when exercising, do minimal cardio and (as others have stated) lots of weights.

Eat Pies!!

What will work is body building, get your ass down the gym, not mush just an hour or so every few days. This will increase your apetite, don't supress it, go with the flow, graze.

Then when you are full of muscle, stop going to the gym, it will turn to fat, and you will have achieved success.

nod This is what I did when I was pregnant and having trouble gaining weight. I drank protein shakes/meal replacement shakes with my meals.

Eat lots of protein and carbs, and plenty of healthy fats (olive oil, fatty fish). I also put butter on freakin' everything, and cooked everything in lots of butter.
