Many of you know my story, and a few have been with me through the difficult times I had during my divorce. Well, the good Lord saw fit to send me a wonderful woman who makes me incredibly happy! In the process, I become a step-father to two wonderful children! Prior to meeting my fiancee, I had just about given up on the whole romance thing. My girl came to see me during my run in Hedwig, and inquired through her niece about me (two of her nieces are dear friends of mine. She's only two years older than her oldest niece). I had heard stories about her for years, but never really got to know her. Well, we met and just CLICKED in a way I never thought possible. We are very different in many aspects, and quite similar in others. She brings a balance to my life that I didn't know could be acheived! Oh man, I just had to share with my Org family! Oh, and for those wondering, we are (tenativley) planning on getting married on May 29th of next year! eye dont know u dude but....  yay! | |

WOW! Congratulations! You'll have to teach me a thing or two. I'm 37 and I've never been married. Been burned plenty of times, but never married. I think I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what. Well, at least you haven't been married and divorced countless times! Seriously though, it just kind of happened to me. I had just ended a rather rocky relationship when I met my fiance. The LAST thing I was looking for was a relationship. It all happens when its suppossed to happen. If its any concilation, I had pretty much given up on the whole love thing at the point when we met. My first marriage ended after a couple of very painful years, and the subsequent attempts at dating didn't fair much better. When I quit trying, it happened.

Okeyday, here's the details, for all y'all wanting to know!
So, we went out on a date to PF Changs (the site of our first date). Just prior to leaving, I took the kids upstairs and asked them for their mother's hand in marriage. The seven year old gave me her permission, the two year old yelled "I'm Spider-Man" and proceeded to bound around the room. Well, I took that as an affirmative. I played it off as being an anniversary dinner, and really nothing more. She even suggested the restaraunt, which was perfect, because that is where I'd wanted to do it. I was able to keep it a secret this way (I really think she would have suspected had I come up with where we were going to eat). Anyhoo, when we arrived, I made sure we parked in the exact spot we had on the first date (on that first night, we stayed outside the car and talked for hours. It was a VERY significant discussion). I made a joke about parking in that spot, again to throw her off. We had a nice meal, sat and talked for a good long while, then exited. As we walked to the car, I started talking about that first date, and how great my life had been since that night. We kissed outside of the car (I made sure that I manuevered us into the exact angle and whatnot we had been on that first night). I then dropped to one knee, pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me (she said yes, by the way!! ).
On the way home, I played her all sorts of songs that were significant to us, and she pretty much cried the whole way. All that night, she sat staring at the ring and smiling (the ring is gorgeous, if I do say so myself). Now, we begin the task of planning a wedding! Since its the second wedding for both of us, we will probably do a small, inimate wedding with our families. I'm so excited!!! [Edited 10/18/04 8:25am]

Tatooine would pretty much be identical to where I grew up (West Texas/New Mexico) and my fiancee hates snakes, so Dagobah is pretty much nixed!
