I am sad to tell you he was mere target practise for us...

I can see that. lol

But seriously, I hear it's a great show. He used to be quite tongue in cheek, being he's a quite average looking, chubby sex symbol song guy. lol He built quite a local following (taking the name Har Mar from a failing local suburban strip mall), then built a bit of a following in the UK (we kept seeing promos for him everywhere when we were there in 2003), then did a DJ gig for a while in Ibiza, then did a cameo in Starsky and Hutch movie (he was the disco dancer!), and finally located himself in LA where he decided to become quite a bit more serious abut the music thing, going beyond the R & B schtick-ish tendencies and taking the music a bit more seriously. I've got a copy of the new album a friend burned for nearly everyone he knows, he loved it so much and I plan on giving it a good listen soon! Perhaps tonight, even!

Ok, I have to play Devils Advocate for a sec Carrie.

I don't see Har Mar as a failing Strip Mall, no it's not the huge Mall of America or even Rosedale, but it's perfect for those that don't like those big malls. I also consider a strip mall as a place where you have to enter each store from the outside, and in Har Mar's defense, you can actually go inside the Mall to gain entrance to all the stores.

They do have a number of businesses that do really well, like:

TJ MAX
Old Chicago
David's Bridal
Cub Foobs
Borders Book
Michaels Crafts
Famous Footwear
Marshalls

plus many more, but my favorite spot there is Buffalo Wind Wings.
Life my azz muthafucka, dis is a bitness!!

right now I count 30 (correct me if I'm wrong) confirmed. I was thinkin' of starting with 25 shirts (if I don't get everyone's sizes I'll get a good mix M-XXL (and one for Billy wink ). If I need more I can do re-orders and I'd be happy to drop 'em in the mail.

It should be fun to meet everyone but damn you all should have came a week or two ago while it was still warm and the leaves were still on the tree. It's cold as hell outside right now and all the beautiful colored leaves on the trees are all sitting on the ground now. My advice - Bring some warm clothes smile

Okay ~ here's the scoop on the t-shirts...

cost is $10 yay! - 4 color screen printed on navy blue, short sleeve, but I can change that (I think I want mine long sleeved) though it might cost a buck or 2 more. My friend's dad was completely amused/impressed with the artwork (woot! Dansa!!)

I ordered 25 of 'em. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you are for sure interested so I can adjust this number. I told the guy I would call him back Monday morning.

I ordered: (reserved for so far)
1 XXXL (billysparxxx (coulda guessed that right? wink ))
3 XXL
7 XL
9 L (vi, ella, myself)
5 M (endo)

FRIDAY NITE PEOPLE!!!!

still pondering the Har Mar show...

the people I have as "interested" or "why the hell not" are:

Muse
Matt
Tackam
Ella
MplsGenius
Endo
CarrieMpls
Violett

the people I think are "ummmm, thanks but NO THANKS" are:

Handclaps
FunkMistress

anyone else?

.....
I just checked the website for the Triple Rock and tix are still available. Again, the tix are $10. It appears if we reserve them in advance there's a $2.50 fee. I've never intentionally seen Har Mar Superstar before, so I'm not sure if the show will sell-out. For those of us who are interested, do we wanna coordinate reserving tix? Each person can reserve up to 4 at a time....

Or should we just play it by ear and see where the city takes us on Friday night?
