Does anybody remember this song:
Playmate Come out and play with me And bring your jolly three Slide down my rain barrel Into my cellar door And we'll be jolly friends Forever more I wonder what a rain barrel is? RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed One fell off and bumped his head So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said No more monkeys jumping on the bed! Four little monkeys jumping on the bed One fell off and bumped his head So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said No more monkeys jumping on the bed! Three little monkeys jumping on the bed One fell off and bumped his head So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said No more monkeys jumping on the bed! Two little monkeys jumping on the bed One fell off and bumped his head So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said No more monkeys jumping on the bed! One little monkey jumping on the bed He fell off and bumped his head So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said No more monkeys jumping on the bed! No little monkeys jumping on the bed None fell off and bumped his head So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said Put those monkeys back in bed! Mom really should have learned her lesson after the first monkey bumped his head, yanno?? [Edited 10/13/04 11:50am] Mom must have been a slow learner. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

JediMaster said: Okay, since we're on the topic of childhood songs, does anyone remember this one (used to be sung around Halloween) that started off "There was an old woman of skin and bones...oooo, OOOOO, ooooo..."? That's all I can remember of it, other than the song ended with everyone going "BOO!!!". I can vaguely remember the tune, but its bugged me for years how the rest of the song goes. I'm actually quite surprised I remeber it at all, since I learned it in first grade.
You are NOT the only person who remembers that song, unfortunately, you are also not the only one to only remember those few words. I'm firmly planted in denial

I heard that the "Ring around the Rosie" song was about the bubonic (sp?) plauge.
"Ring around the rosie" (reference to the rash that people with bp had) "Pocket full of posies" (reference to flowers kept in cloth to diguise the smell of the bodies left in the street) "Ashes to Ashes, they all fall down" ( they burned the bodies to keep the plauge from spreading. Sick Huh ??

We sang a lot of these. I remember in particular the Old Lady and the Fly, On Top of Spaghetti and (I don't think anyone's mentioned it here) Miss Mary Mack. We also sang some dirtier ones, but I will only mention those by request.

I feel the exact same way, except I was off on the words. Thanks for typing them all out... now I will NEVER forget them. I recently purchased the 30" Spider-Man action figure from Wal-Mart, and I found myself singing that song as I carried this HUGE Spider-Man to the checkout counter. ARRRGH!!! I taught the Spider-Man theme to my future stepson and stepdaughter. The two now go around singing it constantly!!! The girl even knows the alternate lyrics from the Aerosmith version!!!
