What do I gotta do?

Some friends of mine just asked me to be Godfather to their new son. I really felt like I couldn't say "no" so I accepted without really knowing what I was agreeing too. Anybody know what a modern day Godfather is supposed to do? It's not great when your only reference point is 16 years of Catholic indoctrination and a movie trilogy

Last thing I want is to wake up with a horse head in my bed!

You can be my Godfather instead.

first: get an extra job... only way you will be able to pay for all the biiiiiggg gifts you have to buy for X-mas, B-day etc.

If the parents die, you are supposed to raise that child, and you are to assist the parents in raising the child, both spiritually and in everyday life, you should be very close to the child.....
