I have had this...It's ok. Over rated. It tastes like a shot of strong alcohol. I think if you drink too much...you'll be drunk and have some slight hallucinatory feelings. Then again I only did a little.

i used to work in a bar on Portobello Road once and i specifically remember a couple that used to come in every now and then. it was a really busy night and they were just hitting the absinthe. anyway, over the course of the night they just drank and drank and drank. i have never seen the affect that alcohol has like the affect it had on these people.
i swear the bone structure of their faces changed cuz of it. it was some kind of elephant man shit.

The absinthe existing now is NOTHING like it used to be during the times before it was banned though. The thing Pantha is talking about is the original Absinthe, the stuff that bears the name today is considerably more moderate in alcohol content than it used to.

I love it though, it tastes like wormwood. Very wicked. Milty, you are right in that absinthe holds some very weird qualities.

I've been trying to get my hands on some, but it's expensive and sometimes hard to get. I hear La Fee and Pernod make some of the best stuff. I think the more original formulas come from the Czech Republic.

I drank half a pint of the stuff aftter I'd taken some speed.

I wouldn't recommend it. People turned invisible in front of me.

I never touched either substance again. I was going through a weird phase. I was in love with somebody and wanted to experience everything they experienced.

there's a camp every year devoted to it a Burning Man. They call it the Green Fairie. They give it away for free...well probably for a trade/gift or something...if you have a pretty necklace you are willing to part with, I am sure you can get a free drink.

I don't think the real thing is any longer available, it sure isn't legal anywhere anymore. The taste of it is supposed to be quite bitter, so i'm always suspicious when people tell me they drunk it. The name absinth is licenced however, in Spain you can get it in different colors, but it's just some very strong (80% actually) liquer that tastes like Ricard.

(and let it b noted for the record: i've never been as shit faced in my whole life as i was once after a night of Ricard. (And again the next morning when i drank a glass of water to get rid of the sticky white stuff that was left in my mouth))

I've had it. The real thing, not the watered down products you get officially these days.
About 6 years ago. I had just turned 20.

We did it several times. One time we lined the entire wall with blank canvas and painted
for hours. we woke up the next morning covered in paint, sleeping on the floor but with
some of the most exquisite paintings. They were trips. Like zooms of Klimt or something.

Last time I did it was with someone else, in a forrest on walpurrings nacht. That freaked
me out. But by god, it was a cool experience.

These days tho, I like to go to bed early with a cup of Jasmin tea
