Cell phone users I need your help Hey people.
I'm going to get a new cell phone and new contract soon. What's the best cell phone service overall? Verizon? Cingular? T-Mobile? Which cuts off the least and has the best customer service? Which one would you recommend me avoiding? I heard AT&T Wireless was the worst and Verizon was the best. What's the best cell phone? Motorola? LG? Audiovox? What? What has a lot of great features like color, camera, real ring tones, games, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've always had Verizon and I've always been happy with it. The calls are normally very clear and I don't get many dropped calls at all.

You guyz have different companiez...but i guess my one word of advice would be to go with a company dat doesn't have a fixed for example 2-year plan. Here in Oz, there is a certain company called Telstra dat charges you if you change your mind about your server and wanna convert!! It'z outrageous and such utter bull crapz i tell ya!!
So be careful what deal u go for!! No hablo espanol,no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... "Come into my world..." Missy Quote of da Month: "yeah, sure, that's cool...wait WHAT?! "

They give great gifts. | |

Hey people, thanks for the suggestions (the American ones anyway).
I'm currently with Cingular, but I'm probaly going to switch to Verizon. The reception in NYC with Cingular is sh*te. Two fingers.

I was thinking about traveling there w/my phone. So far, I haven't had any problems w/it when I was in LA, Cleveland, or Detroit.

[Edited 10/11/04 18:13pm] It's really hard trying to decide which phone service to go with. It's like everyone has conflicting opinions. I've heard good things about Verizon, but then you and some other people come along and now I'm not so sure. I hear some good things about T-Mobile, Verizon and Cingular (my current service). I like Verizon's goodies on their phones (games, ringtones, etc.) But I heard they don't work well a lot of times. But everyone says AT&T Wireless is sh*te.

My Cingular phone worked marginally well in NYC, but people with Verizon in NYC say their reception is blazin'! I guess it depends on the power set up in each region.

Well, I work for Verizon Wireless and let me just run off our Worry-Free Guarantee: You have a 15-day satisfaction guarantee on any equipment you purchase. You can exchange it or completely return it within 15 days You can change your calling plan at any time You'll enjoy the largest, most reliable, nationwide wireless network Your problem becomes our problem the first time you call You can get a free phone every 2 years I think Motorola, Kyocera, and Samsung make the best phones. Audiovox is good too. LG is ok AT&T uses GSM network which is not fully developed in the U.S. The Motorola V710 is the most expensive phone we have which has bluetooth technology, video messaging, camera with 1.2m pixel resolution, txt messaging, web browswer, voice dialing, and the ability to download ringtones, applications, and games You definitelty would want a tri-mode phone and not an all digital one oh and you can choose a 1yr or 2yr contract, but you get a larger discount off the price of the phone on a 2yr contract and the free phone offer is only if you do a 2yr contract and only after you have completed 2yrs and renew for another 2yrs [Edited 10/11/04 21:11pm]

[Edited 10/11/04 18:13pm] Wireless service is not guaranteed in buildings, houses, or campuses. The radio signal cannot go through a building to your phone and we are not allowed to build towers on colleges campuses. Terrain is also an issue [Edited 10/11/04 21:14pm]
