Christopher Reeve and SEX

Last night I watched that Barbara Walters 20/20 special where they were showing clips of her previous interviews with CR and his wife. One of the clips she politely asks if they are getting it on (those are my words, not hers). They say they are having sex-she's says it's a little different and he said right after "it's terrific" - so my quesiton is...if he had no feeling from the neck down...how did he well...feel that he was inside her (or was he??) - I guess sex can be "terrific" on an emotional level an maybe that's what he was referring to.

my post or barbara walters? If I thought my post was tacky, I would not have asked. I'm curious and I don't have a medical background-maybe someone here does.

well, i saw the interview as well.. i guess that would be all they wanted to say about their sex life and perhaps if they would have wanted you to know, they would have told you exactly how it felt.. other than that, i would say that asking a question like that 2 days after the man died is, a bit tacky, but, then again, thats just me

Anxiety

i think people really live under too much pressure to live up to images of love and sex that we see in movies and TV and read about in novels. love doesn't have to always be this white-hot uber-hyper-passionate thing and every day doesn't have to be a hallmark moment, and sex doesn't have to be like the way they do it on nip/tuck or queer as folk or whatever the hell show they're screwing away on as i type this...when it is that urgent and passionate and charged with energy, it's great - but sex and love can be very quiet and calm and mellow, and very fulfillingly so.

i know this has nothing to do with christopher reeves' sex life, but i'm assuming in earnest that you were sincere in starting this thread and not just going for cheap shock value, and as such, these were the thoughts were what came to mind. shrug

Thanks for your thoughts..and yes I actually was trying to be sincere. I'm truly curious. Perhaps I should have used as Brooke Ellison or another male as an example instead of CR so I wouldn't piss someone off here.... just because I asked doesn't mean I'm not feeling deepely saddened by his passing.

Sincerely,

TACKY GIRL

i just know...I JUST KNOW...people on the org are not talking about tackiness in a post. i have read threads about licking cum off of one another...hell, i've participated in threads about licking cum off of people...and folks are whinging about inquirin about how a dead guy had sex. so, please tell me what the proper waiting time is before we can talk about dead folks? i mean, shit, michael jackson is alive and well and folks make far more tacky comments about him...with intent to insult. some of y'all need to get a grip.

as for the question at hand...maybe her answer was just a stock answer. i can't see how they had an active sex life if he couldbarely even breath on his own.

...in the daily news somewhere they said the worked a lot on getting him to feel sensation (not in those words and I ain't going back to read it) although I don't think that's what they were talking about, but anyway, it said they did accomplish on making improvement

i don't remember where i saw this but it was on some news channel and way before he died, he and his wife were talking about having more children but decided against it because mr. reeves would be able to hold the child. well anyway eventhough he was paralyzed he could still get an erection. if he got pleasure from it i don't know-they didn't go that far. this is possible because two people could be paralyzed from the neck down with the same injuries and still have different outcomes.

This will be a debate for ever, I am sure.

But still, even though I post on some dubious threads, there is something like common decency and respect.

I will always think it is good if people will point out to non suspecting people that something is not okay.

I am sure that some people in their innocence ( hmm ) will post threads like these and others (or most) will do this to raise hell.

It is YOUR choice to be active on these threads, like it is MY choice to point out the obvious stupidity of starting threads like these. Don't say, if you do not like it, stay the hell out of it, but some threads cross certain borders...

Excuse me Mr. Gooey but this was not to start chaos in any way. If you read my other posts I was just curious about how people in this condition deal with this. Obviously, because of the B Walters interview, I couldn't help but offer that as an example.

Granted, I take full responsibility that I should have made the subject line more general and rephrased my words a bit. But get off your high-horse. If you don't want to deal with this-just don't open the damn thread.

It is such a weak excuse. General Discussion does not mean Write Everything That Comes Up In Your Feeble Mind.

If you are really serious you would have changed the title of your disgracing thread, which you did not.

Again, a reminder about the rules you signed before you were allowed to post here;

Sure, it has piqued my interest. I can understand your interest in the subject, just not your way of packaging your interests.

I have been interested in how people use this forum. If you are going to post here you should also be ready to get opposing views.

It is very easy to single ME out and be allpouty, but it is not just ME that objected to this thread , is it?

You know that is a task that would occupy you into the 9's. I do certainly not like every aspect on this site.

I have no problem pointing out people crossing lines. You seem to me a person that thinks. I hope you use it to not be personally offended. I object to this thread's title and obvious, even unintended, disrespect.

I read your post about you did not intending it this way and I believe you. I just do not believe you carry on and do not edit.

this thread is not tacky...these jokes are though:

Q: Which actor does Christopher Reeve most want to be?
A: Christopher Walken.

Q: What's the difference between Christopher Reeve and O.J. Simpson?
A: Christopher Reeve got the electric chair.

see the difference?

I must be in the dark and handle a different set of standards here.

My horse is probably too high. It was not intended as bickering. I am just sincerely disappointed in how people seem to handle .... can't find the right word, English is just my 2nd language.... common decency.

People that know ME know I am not on a quest for morality, but the bleakness sometimes wears me down.

i don't think you're on a quest for "morality" per se but i think you've got limits set for yourself and your expecting others to agree or, at least, follow them. the point of the two "jokes" above was to show the difference between asking a question about a dead person and disrespecting a dead person. notice i did not put any smiling, laughing, rolling on the floor, etc emoticons after the "jokes".

Hey Sassy,

I understood the point you were trying to make. I really appreciate you trying to show me your point of view.

I will try to understand people's curiosity into handicapped people's sex life and the cum licking.

Again, the fact that I cannot find the right words in English to express myself frustrate me. I might have been somewhat more touchy today (kitten drama) but I refuse to believe that threads like these are considered 'not disrespectful'

I agree to disagree, something I have done LOADS since frequenting this site. I realise the many differences in culture and upbringing will keep a united Org far away from reality. I just never saw this site as the forum to find out about handicapped sex life, packaging it around a guy that just passed away.

To each their own, I guess.
